There has been no official announcement yet on the exact date. The original announcement said he would return in October.

Again, there's been no official word.
But, if you go to the main forum page, in the upper right corner is a series of Announcements where the latest info is posted and where TCM will likely post updates.

I think she tried to entice each husband into leaving but was surprised that none of them really took the bait.
So, instead of hanging around a social circle that would have known that she lost, so to speak, the better part of her narcissism meant she had to move on to greener pastures.
But not before she took one more mean swipe at the three women who had befriended her and whom she thought she would blindside but instead gave them each a better understanding of the meaning of love.

I don't think Addie ran off with any of the husbands. Brad was delayed in getting back that night but he would be there on Sunday. He warned Deborah that he might be delayed overnight and not to be surprised if he was.
Porter thought about it and then realized he loved Laura Mae.
George never really had second thoughts.
The tipping of the glass and Addie's more melancholy "heigh ho" instead of her usual exuberance voice over delivery point in that direction.

Just thought it warranted saying (after two posts that have nothing to do with the thread):
This is not a thread about TCM programming.
This is a thread dedicated to the upcoming Programming CHALLENGE. The TCM Programming CHALLENGE is not connected in any way with TCM (nor endorsed by them), the programming staff does check out the entries and does use ideas. This was started about five years ago by Path40a to give participants an idea of what the actually programming staff goes through when putting together a monthly schedule. For the CHALLENGE, participants only have to program a week, not a month.
LonesomePolecat won the previous Challenge and with that came the honor of moderating the next one.
He started this thread to let those who regularly participate in and those who might be interested in participating in participating that the next CHALLENGE is coming up.
So, if posters are interested in participating, this is the place to let LP know.
Mike, you have a couple of threads already started about your dissatisfaction on the programming of the channel. Since you have a hard time finding your previous threads, I'll help you out:

*Speedy* is being shown with live musical accompaniment by the Alloy Orchestra.
Having seen *Metropolis* with the Alloy Orchestra and *The Cameraman* with the wonderful Vince G and the Nighthawks, there is nothing quite like seeing a silent film with a live music.
Really is different from seeing a film on television.

TCM is owned by a large corporation, Time Warner. The good news in all of this is that Time Warner understands what a jewel they have in TCM and, unlike other big corporations, they choose to protect that jewel rather than trash it.
The staff of TCM is just as dedicated to keeping TCM the channel we all love.

When Ted Turner merged his media empire with Time Warner-AOL back in the mid-1990s, his media empire (TNT, TBS, CNN, TCM, Cartoon Network, etc) was part of that merger. As part of that merger, Turner stepped away from managing that empire, as well, but many of the employees who started with the channel are still there.
Turner's media empire is now part of Time-Warner and the former Turner Film Library is part of Warner Brothers Home Video (but belongs to parent company, Time Warner).

Literary rights is what kept *The Constant Nymph* in limbo for so long. The original studio (WBros, I think) didn't have the literary rights secured when they made the film and the film went into limbo within a few years of being released.
TCM has been working with WBros Home Video to clear the rights and last spring they were finally successful.
Literary rights is what kept *Night Flight* tied up (also cleared up by TCM and WBros Home Video) and keeps *Letty Lynton* still tied up. Though from various sites, it sounds like WBros and TCM are working on that one as well.

As for many of Linda Darnell's films, that's a horse of a different color, in regards to rights.
Most of those were made at Fox and Fox, because they have their own movie channel, tend to keep their top stars' films for their own channel. TCM is able to get some of the films but, too often it seems, Fox prefers to keep them for themselves instead of renting them to TCM.

If this is similar to the Film Festival, TCM is just getting started with the announcements.
While the cruise is still four months away (and counting), that doesn't mean that they are done lining up stars to talk about the films they are showing or participating in panel discussions.
The announcements may go down to the wire (as they tend to do with the Film Festival), but I bet they have only gotten started!

I totally agree with you about Cagney. In addition to his fast talking comedic roles and his dramatic roles, we shouldn't forget his dancing roles as well!
Not only as George C. Cohan but also the fast talking Broadway producer singing and dancing with Ruby Keeler in *Footlight Parade*, among others.

Of all the things that went through my mind when I saw the announcement from TCM about Robert O's hiatus, facial work never crossed my mind and still doesn't.
I'm not sure who the "LOT of us" are that think this but in the words of Sam Goldwyn, "count me out.".
