Yeah, everytime I see a photograph of someone sweating, I have carnal thoughts ... like when you see the mist coming off the head of a bald offensive lineman ...

Yes, I've read Ms. Ravitch's book ... it would be hysterical if it wasn't so ridiculous. -
Is it just me, or does Ms. Arden pretty much have the same expression in most of those photos?

And while we're on the subject, have you noticed how "shell shock" became "battle fatigue," which has now become "post traumatic stress syndrome?" And when did "breaking and entering" become a "home invasion?" Maybe we need a PC thread. -

>It became ?politically correct? to stop using terms like ?****?, ?cripple?, ?oriental?, and start using terms like ?mentally challenged?, ?physically challenged?, and ?Asian. Our university has instructed us that in place of "mentally ****" we must say "person with an intellectual disability." Now since I cannot think of anyone who does not have an intellectual disability in some area (including me), that pretty much makes us all mentally ****. The highlight of one meeting was getting to read the PC terms that students were required to use in their MS thesis in another department. "Mankind" gets replaced by "peoplekind," etc. Then there was a university official introducing our female President as "my favorite she-ro." -

>Totem poles are found in Alaska among the Eskimo. Actually, they are found among the people of the northwest coast, such as the Kwakiutl of British Columbia. I wish I had seen this movie so I could also find fault with it. -
>I was young. I knew dames. I drank Jax beer. I sweated. The dames sweated. Are you related to Raymond Chandler?

I wonder if this is a ripoff of White Cargo, with Blanche as the Tondelayo character.

Hey, at least Brando didn't say "It's blasted hot today." Then again, maybe he did, and no one understood what he said.

Hey, we could have used you last night. We were reduced to commenting on Frank Buck.

>Don't worry, wait until the Democratic Primary is over. Ah, why wait? Let's discuss how the Democrats will manage to blow this election.

>curious monkey videos. What went wrong? Nothing ... we're back on evolution vs. creationism now. So could an orangutan have evolved into Clyde Beatty?

Here is another eerie link to the military. "Gort" spelled backwards is "Trog," which was a bomb.

Yes, mathematicians do that a lot. Usually, there is no one around to hear though.
