Hey metz, welcome back. I miss your photos. At least they challenge everybody more than mine, You are correct .. it is from "Woman on the Moon," known by various titles. Apparently the film was thought destroyed by the Germans since they were afraid it would "reveal" what they knew about rockets. However, I believe a print does survive.

What movies do you watch when youre down in the dumps
scsu1975 replied to TripleHHH's topic in General Discussions
Just watch The Three Stooges. There is nothing like a pie in the face, a poke in the eye, a "ruff ruff," a pipe clanging against a head, a plane across the scalp (complete with sawdust), a "burmp" to the nose, pliers to the nostrils etc., to get out of a funk. Nyuk nyuk nyuk! -
Geez, Julie Adams still looks great!

How about if I just say the insignia at the bottom left should narrow it down? Google it.

I have some from the 40s, which I must have gotten from relatives ... sets of Hopalong Cassidy cards for instance. I posted a few in the *Western Forum* awhile back under "Western Gallery." I have some Davy Crockett cards, Ben Casey, Dr, Kildare, and loads of Batman cards. I'm sure I must have bought the cards from the last three on that list.

I'm not really a collector, I just kept a lot of stuff from when I was a kid. I think most of these Western cards are from 1958, which makes me think perhaps my older brother bought them (he was 7, I was 4). I think Topps Chewing Gum manufactured them. I have cards from Trackdown, Union Pacific, Wanted Dead or Alive, Gunsmoke, The Restless Gun, Yancy Derringer, and a few others.

What a great charactor actor, always enjoyed his work. The first time I saw him was in the A & C flick It Ain't Hay. He plays a character named Warner. At one point in the film, he knocks on the door and Abbott says "It's Warner." Costello says "Tell him we're signed with Universal."

Did the little clue that I kept in the photo help? I thought about cropping it.

I think The Alligator People took place in Louisiana. Doesn't Live and Let Die have a scene in New Orleans?

Although that's not the subject of this movie, you have actually provided a clue as to why this movie at one time was thought to be lost.

I noticed that glitch too ... looked more like a bad edit, or simply a problem with the film. Without giving the ending away, let's just say it probably "fit the code."

Did anyone watch The Strange Woman? No spoilers below. This movie approaches camp at times, but it managed to keep me interested. The setting is Bangor, Maine, 1800s. We first see Ms. Lamarr's character, Jenny, as a young girl with an American accent. As she grow to womanhood, she acquires her Austrian accent. Her father is played by Dennis Hoey, with his very British accent. After fleeing from her father's abuse, the town Reverend (Moroni Olsen) marries Jenny off ?to Gene Lockhart! Lockhart's son, played by Louis Hayward, was a childhood friend of Jenny, and Jenny is now his stepmother ?well, you can imagine where this leads. Enter George Sanders, who has a thing for Hillary Brooke ?until Jenny starts eyeballing him. Look for the scene where lightning strikes the tree ?pure lust. The Strange Men may have been a better title, since all the male characters seem ignorant of what is going on. Still, this is worth a look, and will be playing again on March 25.

You are correct. There are various titles for the movie. Nils Asther plays a Martian, I believe.

Nope, there is no rule. I just figured it was better to revive an old thread, but that's just my opinion. -

I guess a clue is in order. Nils Asther was in this movie.
