Yes, Osborne mentioned how the director was found dead. Germany was a tough town. -
Holding on .. but then again, I started investing 25 years ago.
-
OK, thanks ... I haven't heard of this film.

Once we make it through the romantic and business subplots, the climax is actually well staged. -
Kenneth, was the film The Bicycle Thief?
-
Har.

Nice job as always, Fred. Now you can take a stab at my latest photo in the trivia thread.
-
Well, at least I've heard of Blassie and Tor Johnson.
-
I believe the question is this: suppose someone says a film was made in the 20s. How do we know if the person means the 1920s or the 2020s? I assume the context would help.

I thought it might be either Louis Calhern or Montague Love, but I can't find a movie to match. Do you know the title?
-
P&D: I remember The Rat Patrol. Enjoy:
-
No ma'am, but thank you for playing

Thanks for all this onfo, Fred. I just found all of Bancroft's works online, so it looks like I have more research to do this week!
-
Yes, it's really a nice old-fashioned inspirational film.
-
Yes, he had very long sideburns, almost like muttonchops. Roger Davis had lighter hair, so I don't think that's him. One thing is for sure, it is definitely not Jonathan Frid!
-
I don't remember him having a beard though .. unless he grew it later in the series. I do remember the instrumental "Quentin's Theme" was released as a single. Mongo, these are great posts. They really bring back lots of memories. Thanks again!
-
Ah, I remember Dark Shadows well ...loaded with some pretty bad acting too. I wonder if that is David (Quentin Collins) Selby behind Ms. Bennett.
-
*Whose hand is that in the photo with John Hubbard and Virginia Grey?* Adam West, of course ... heh heh. It was Lou Costello, which is why I had to crop it.
-
Correct on all counts. I will find something obscure next time, so you can use your investigative powers to full effect.
-
How about RUDY, filmed at the University of Notre Dame?
-
I'm not familiar with Bancroft's book. How old is it? Interesting what you said about Cortez. So Cesar Romero never did all that conquering then? I'm reading a lot of anthropology books/Smithsonian reports on American Indians for my research. I seem to remember you are part Cherokee.

If you know the film, you can use process of elimination.

NIGHT OF THE LEPUS and ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE

Those potties must have been for Betsy Wetsy, -
tkay, you're correct about people not reading anymore. I've been teaching for over thirty years, and all my students want to do now is cut and paste things from the internet and pass it off as "research."
