The Film Encyclopedia by Katz gives March 13, 1904 ... but he has been known to make an occasional mistake.

Never Give *A* inch? LOL .. must have been written by a college student.

And yes, there is a photo trivia game in the Trivia forum, where all are welcome to play.

So why did this kid's hair turn green?

I suspect it was from global warming. -
Woohoo--Night Nurse and pre-codes on TCM Tonight!!!

So far, I've gotten through THE DIVORCEE, NIGHT NURSE, and THREE ON A MATCH. THE DIVORCEE was dull. Shearer look good, Chester Morris did not. Maybe it would have been spicier had we been able to see the face of the woman after the car wreck. NIGHT NURSE was better, especially with Gable playing a heel. I wanted to slug him when he socked poor old Charles Winninger. Stanwyck and Blondell did seem to be changing their clothes quite often, as Mr. Osborne noted. The credits listed Allan Lane in a small part .. I wonder if that was Allan "Rocky" Lane, who later became a western star in the 40s. THREE ON A MATCH was the best, so far. Ann Dvorak was excellent, while Bette Davis had almost nothing to do. Dvorak "sniffing" was priceless, and the way she led the cops to her kid was unique, to say the least. Bogart was convincing as a mug, but I could never take Allen Jenkins seriously as a heavy, especially with that voice of his. I wonder why we had to see Edward Arnold plucking his nose hairs. Maybe that was abolished after the code?? -
mr6666, correct on the actor, not the movie. You obviously know how to decipher these clues. Clue 3: YF-Redheads-22081021

Here is a trivia question on Hawking: Isaac Barrow was the first, Isaac Newton was the second. and Hawking is the current one. What do they all have in common?

So is it TOPPER RETURNS?

Hopefully, TCM will dig this one up for us. Looks like it was distributed in the UK and USA by United Artists.

I agree that inertia is what will keep the people moving at that speed. I've fallen off enough bikes and horses to realize what will happen when someone/something applies the brakes. However, what are the effects of gravity and friction? Did the Miracle Man stop these as well? If so, the people will most certainly go flying off the planet.

Peter Lorre is the correct answer for Clue 1. You are off to a good start. Clue 2: GD-Superstar-33081214

*Now SCSU, would you would risk getting tangled up with Rhonda Fleming?? Didn't you see that she scratches??* Yeah, well, I'm used to that

I hate physics. You're thinking of centrifical force, which applies to circular motion ... maybe when you were a kid you swung a bucket filled with water in a circular motion over your head and the water stayed in the bucket. This force acts opposite gravity, so it pushes things away from the earth. I believe this is what keeps objects, like satellites, in orbit around the earth .. but it takes quite a bit of velocity to escape the earth's gravity in the first place. That's why I am wondering about people flying off the planet. Can't you just ask me a simple calculus question instead? Or ask me to explain why the Scarecrow's statement is all wrong in the WIZARD OF OZ?

Can someone tell me how to give some assistance to Rhonda Fleming?

The writing is even worse. I have to grade papers (keep in mind, these are university students to whom I am referring), and I get stuff like "your" when they mean "you're," "Im" which doesn't exist of course, "thru" for "through," and "b/c" for "because." Much of this can be blamed on instant and text messaging. I won't even get into some of the e-mails I have to decipher. Ugh.

From the novel: "You see when Mr. Fotheringay had arrested the rotation of the solid globe, he had made no stipulation concerning the trifling movables upon its surface. And the earth spins so fast that the surface at its equator is travelling at rather more than a thousand miles an hour, and in these latitudes at more than half that pace. So that the village, and Mr. Maydig, and Mr. Fotheringay, and everybody and everything had been jerked violently forward at about nine miles per second [should be: minute]--that is to say, much more violently than if they had been fired out of a cannon. And every human being, every living creature, every house, and every tree--all the world as we know it--had been so jerked and smashed and utterly destroyed. That was all." So they were smashed but didn't go flying off. I will have to check with my colleagues in the Physics department about this.

Amazon has it.

I agree about Cobb. He did a superb job, simmering and then finally imploding. He had the juiciest part in the movie and ran with it. Overall, the cast was one of the best ever assembled.

Yup, that's what I came up with.
