  1. *The Strange Woman* (1946) 7:00 a.m. Eastern Time Wednesday March 19

I haven't seen this one, but it stars Hedy Lamarr who gets involved with three men. So how bad can it be?

*The Caine Mutiny* (1954) 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time Wednesday March 19.

This is a very faithful adapation of the WWII novel by Herman Wouk. Humphrey Bogart plays Captain Queeg ... is he really nuts? Good supporting cast with Van Johnson, Fred MacMurray, and especially Jose Ferrer as a defense attorney. E.G. Marshall plays a prosecutor. Lee Marvin has a small but important role, as does Whit Bissell, who was in every movie ever made. Look for Warner Anderson on the court martial board, along with Kenneth MacDonald, who always played a villain opposite the Three Stooges. Watch as Bogart plays with his steel balls when he is agitated. Then enjoy it when Ferrer tells everyone off.

  2. Hi, dbrando, and welcome the boards.

I think December Bride got cancelled. ;)

Seriously, though, it ran from 1954 to 1961, with the last couple of years being reruns. Harry Morgan, reprising his role as "Pete" in December Bride, got his own series, Pete and Gladys , in 1960

  3. Scsu, how do you feel about Girardi as a manager? Also, is Bernie Williams the 3rd base coach? I was flipping the channels the other day and thought to have seen him when they played the Indians.

I think Girardi will do fine, although I think he would be more effective with a younger team. He showed that in Florida. I'll miss Torre, though. I don't know about Bernie being a coach, but I would welcome it. He is a classy man.

  4. If your picture is roughly a square, then after you type in the url (but before you put in the >), leave a space, then type

height=400 width = 400> and that should make it a normal size. You can insert any numbers you wish, depending upon the desired size, and also the dimensions of the original picture (keep the same proportions; so if the height is more than the width, make sure your new numbers reflect that as well).

*Earth vs. the Flying Saucers* (1956)

Despite the silly title, this is a neat, fast-paced sci-fi film, with wonderful saucer effects from Ray Harryhausen. The climactic battle scene in Washington D.C. is well worth waiting for. Hugh Marlowe and Joan Taylor are the leads. The supporting cast includes sci-fi stalwarts Morris Ankrum and Tom Browne Henry (who delivers the film's best line). If you ever wanted to see Taylor in a bathing suit, or always wondered just how much hair is on Marlowe's back, this is the film for you.
