You're welcome, Violet. I watched The Indestructible Man, hadn't seen it in years, and it was a pretty good print.

Several comments have been made about the music, so I will add my two cents here. In the late 60s, movie soundtracks started featuring collections of songs (Simon & Garfunkel in The Graduate for instance), rather than orchestral scores. This was a great marketing tool by the producers since they could make money off the movie and the resulting soundtrack. I use "soundtrack" advisedly here, because I barely consider these types of "scores" as soundtracks. On the other hand, in movies like Jaw, Star Wars, The Godfather, Patton, and plenty of others, composers maintained the tradition of using music to color the story. I haven't seen many new movies the last few years, but when I see previews, I notice (unforunately) that blaring soundtracks with rock/rap/loud screeching are in vogue. These are movies I always avoid.

Why did they take a British actor for Ashley? Nothing against Leslie Howard, but how about an American with a slight southern accent? I'm not suggesting Johnny Mack Brown, but how about Randolph Scott? Then again, I also think Mantan Moreland would have been great as "Mammy."

*And what's wrong with Jeffrey Lynn He's adorable.*
Uh ... Jeffrey Lynn as Scarlett?
Oh, sorry, I just watched the video. My mistake

Wow .. were all three guys in that suit at the same time? heh heh
It took me years of seeing this film before I realized Raymond Burr's scenes were tacked on.

So let's see ... the first observation deck, visible in that picture, is 150 meters high, and Mothra is clearly longer than that. Yet, in the larval stage, Mothra did not exceed 120 meters. Somebody messed up.

I often wondered who was in that Godzilla suit.

The Mark of Zorro?

Welcome aboard, Cocofet. If no one here can figure it out, try posting it in the *Information Please* forum. Do you remember anything else about the film? Was it B&W or color? Were the people human-like, or aliens?

I know I saw it a long time ago ... I believe there are some nice shots of Ms. Redgrave in the movie.

Yes, he was in the cast. There are a lot of familiar names in the cast, but they don't seem to appear in this photo.

Is this the one where Hemmings is chasing a tennis ball at the end?

I just checked mine ,.. that is hysterical!

That's Ted Healy standing behind the kids ... so I will guess Reckless.

Wikipedia claims he was of Swedish descent.

*By the way, was Dennis really of Irish extraction or not?*
I think he was born Stanley Morner, in Wisconsin. Is that an Irish name?

Scroll down a page, Miss G, and you'll see Mr. Greene.

Found this site about a week ago, and it looks good so far. Plenty of movies from the 30s and 40s, including The Stranger, Fog Over Frisco with Bette Davis, He Walked By Night, some Grant Withers flicks, etc. Also has some clunkers as well. The prints I've seen so far look decent. Enjoy it.

Welcome to the boards.
Sounds like The Sadist with Arch Hall Jr. as the creep.

Actually, it's ba-da-bing

That's Italian for "I am Culp"
-
I guess he does look a bit Culp-like in that picture. Actually, I have a trading card of Culp from his Trackdown TV series ... but that will have to wait for another time, another place, a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants ...

Interesting film, with a bizarre ending. Nice change of pace for Lorre, and even Fitzgerald (in the other direction).
