  1. Might be the episode where she plays a "wicked city woman" to try to get rid of Cousin Ernie (Tennessee Ernie Ford).

Ernie: "You got quite a hitch in your git-along."

    Lucy: "I'm gonna vamp you."

  2. So far, I've gotten through THE DIVORCEE, NIGHT NURSE, and THREE ON A MATCH.

THE DIVORCEE was dull. Shearer look good, Chester Morris did not. Maybe it would have been spicier had we been able to see the face of the woman after the car wreck.

NIGHT NURSE was better, especially with Gable playing a heel. I wanted to slug him when he socked poor old Charles Winninger. Stanwyck and Blondell did seem to be changing their clothes quite often, as Mr. Osborne noted. The credits listed Allan Lane in a small part .. I wonder if that was Allan "Rocky" Lane, who later became a western star in the 40s.

THREE ON A MATCH was the best, so far. Ann Dvorak was excellent, while Bette Davis had almost nothing to do. Dvorak "sniffing" was priceless, and the way she led the cops to her kid was unique, to say the least. Bogart was convincing as a mug, but I could never take Allen Jenkins seriously as a heavy, especially with that voice of his. I wonder why we had to see Edward Arnold plucking his nose hairs. Maybe that was abolished after the code??

  3. I agree that inertia is what will keep the people moving at that speed. I've fallen off enough bikes and horses to realize what will happen when someone/something applies the brakes. However, what are the effects of gravity and friction? Did the Miracle Man stop these as well? If so, the people will most certainly go flying off the planet.
