Nice job, Metry. Would you care to explain how you got it?
-
It's good, although I could have done without some of the gore .. like seeing the creature pop out of John Hurt's stomach. I think Aliens was better, and really established Ripley as a toughie.
"Get away from her, you b****!"

Jake, the object is to identify the movie and person giving the quote, and the correct guesser gets to post the next quote.

-
It was something like "gimme a drink," from Anna Christie.

I bet he was fun. He was great as Eliza's dad in "My Fair Lady."
-
Not until we're sure you're correct (although you probably are).

Yes, Carradine was in a ton of movies. I expect we'll see a complete list of his films any minute now.
I saw the English actor Clive Revill. I was having a soda in a restaurant near the Schubert Theater in New Haven, and he walked in to order something ... I had seen him in "My Fair Lady" earlier that night at the theater.

Ken, you are right, of course. And honestly, all night I have been laughing hysterically at this, even while I was in the middle of it.

Kyle:
No need to hit those forums ... wait long enough, and all that info will magically appear in a post.

CM, sorry you weren't here earlier ... we could have used you for referee. All the really good stuff got deleted.

Ava, you are very welcome here. Sometimes threads get out of control ... nothing to worry about.

Is it from KLONDIKE ANNIE?
-
Hey Kyle, is the Mabuse Lemon some kind of drink?

Kyle:

Thank you, cinemafan.

YOU ALSO COPY PEOPLE SO YOU'RE ALSO A TROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hardly. I copy people's responses so they know what I am replying to, as do most people on these boards. That is known as etiquette. I do not copy and paste from websites and pass it off as my own work. That is simply dishonest.

Unfortunately, Kyle, it appears the powers-that-be have deleted the posts. I apologize to the community at large for mucking up this thread, but I am sick and tired of one person blatantly posing as a film expert, all the while copying and pasting the work of others.

Chan Is Missing (1982) - On IFC
in General Discussions
Posted
Why should I watch this? It's just a couple of Asian guys yammering for 80 minutes. No stars. No breathtaking scenery. It's even in black & white, for Pete's sake! But using the rudiments of filmmaking technology, ace director Wayne Wang bursts the myth of San Francisco's Chinatown as a mysterious, unknowable "foreign" territory. This is a story of American characters dealing with dilemmas specific to the Asian community. Its insider's look at Asian American culture remains a breakthrough for Asian American fictional cinema. Yes, it's a mystery, but don't expect Charlie Chan. He's missing, too.
