It is a very good idea. I would love to have two such channels. The yawn was not meant for you or your idea.
-
Violet, I like your idea as well.

No, sorry.
Clue 2: This clue can be found in 1K 8:37 and 1K 18:2.

Thanks, Di. I gave up on HBO long ago. AMC used to show it, but I guess I can forget them as well.

Maybe around the eyebrows

I saw it in the theater when it was released, and I remember the audience going "oooooooh" when he shot the melon and it exploded.

Here we go:
Clue 1: A1, S8, Sub 11, third word

Pliny
NEWTON OR EINSTEIN?
-
Sounds like BACK STREET with Susan Hayward and John Gavin (and not McGavin).
Welcome to the boards.

SOCRATES
PYTHAGORAS OR ARCHIMEDES?
-
CALCULUS!
Hamlet or MacBeth?
-
It DOES look a little like Steiger, but it's probably Jimmy Stewart with Kim Novak, from VERTIGO.

I'm not quite sure that is he, but he was 6'3", so it could be.

The correct answer is THE WHOLE TOWN'S TALKING, which was posted in other threads here. So we are closing those threads and going back to this one. I will try to come up with a new movie as soon as possible.
-
We'll close this thread, since the answer, THE WHOLE TOWN'S TALKING, was posted in another thread.

OK, while I'm thinking of one, let's close this thread and get it back to the original thread to avoid extra posts.

No, Arthur Treacher is listed in the cast at imdb.com. Errol and Catlett were identified already, unless I misunderstood metz.
-
I guess that could be Arthur Treacher third from left.

THE WHOLE TOWN'S TALKING (1935)
-
So we're down to the three guys standing at the left?
-
The premise is just too creepy for me.
-
I recorded it tonight while I was watching something else, and I still had to watch the last 20 minutes or so.

Let's add IT HAPPENS EVERY SPRING, a nice little baseball comedy with Ray Milland and Jean Peters. Milland plays a chemistry professor (turned pitching ace) who accidentally invents a substance that makes baseballs resistant to wood.

I always thought he was more of a "star" than an actor; still, I enjoy his work. My mother thought he was a great dancer, along with Cesar Romero.
