Are you forgetting, BG does not have a vcr. Are you offering to buy her one?

Chaplin did win an Oscar for musical score for LIMELIGHT, about 20 years too late. I guess that doesn't count?

I don't need the TUMS for the food, I need it to get through the acceptance speeches, which usually give me agita.

Maybe if Scorsese had directed THE LION IN WINTER, it would have been better. At least some of the characters would have gotten whacked.

Has everyone forgotten Alan Splet?
Who????
He won a Special Academy Award in 1979 for sound effects on THE BLACK STALLION, but never showed to pick up the award.
"It always happens," said host Johnny Carson. "First George C. Scott doesn't show, then Marlon Brando, and now Alan Splet."
Carson spent the rest of the night making jokes about Splet.

I just watched the shower scene in PSYCHO for the 84th time ... and noticed something odd. Janet Leigh is standing under the shower head when the water starts coming out. Wouldn't the water come out pretty cold at first?

Bring back Johnny Carson. He's funnier dead, than most of these others are alive. And I mean no disrespect to Mr. Carson, who put me to sleep with a good laugh for so many years. I miss that guy!

Was that BBC version a mini-series, or at least a two-parter? I think I remember seeing that.

and I do remembering getting a "B" in speed reading, there was a test done on a slide projector...is that the one?
That sounds like it. I remember our teaching running it at 4th grade speed, or whatever grade we were in, then seeing if we wanted to try 5th, 6th grade speeds, etc. ... and it seemed like the lines were really zipping along.

Welcome aboard, Queen.
That question has been asked a lot. I think the answer is in this thread:

Now here is a pet peeve of mine, which explains why I never watch movies on "regular" channels anymore. I hate when they speed up the credits at the end of the movie just so they can get right to the next program. In fact, sometimes they BEGIN the next show on a split screen, while the credits from the last movie are still running on the other side. I'm sure the people who put time and effort into these movies are thrilled about this.
When I watch these credits roll at break-neck speed, it reminds me of being back in elementary school, when we used to get tested on how fast we could read ... a filmstrip projector would flash lines on the screen and advance to the next line in a matter of seconds. Anyone remember that?

Tried to shrink it a bit:

You got that right

NOTORIOUS is playing here in CT.

EXECUTIVE SUITE stars William Holden (not Richard Widmark) and Barbara Stanwyck, and a host of other fine actors. Did you see your version in Spain? Perhaps it was the same movie, with the title changed.
