I don't think this has been widely circulated. TCM has announced another screening to the line-up. *The MOMA restoration of HOOP-LA (1933) featuring legendary "It" girl Clara Bow in her last feature film performance.* http://www.tcm.com/festival/#/events/openingNight Kyle In Hollywood

*"Those are gorgeous!"* - JackFavell I knew you'd like them. Well, one in particular. *"I am loving everything up to and around Victor's smile."* Is that assessment starting from the bottom to (almost) the top? Is there something about his forehead that bothers you? Kyle In Hollywood -

is there any other way to access tcm (besides cable or dish)?
hlywdkjk replied to estragon's topic in General Discussions
*"what i want is to have access to tcm programming without paying for a bizillion (i think that's the technical mathematical term) moribund, mindless channels. ... is this simply the stuff that dreams are made of?"* - estragon Yes. Dream on. TCM is only able to exist under the "bundled" pricing plan that collects a small amount from every household (according to TCM, some 80 million households). This is true of all "niche" channels like TCM, Hallmark or BBC America. If programming distributors collected subscriber fees from only those who "watched" TCM, how much money do you think these "individual subscribers" would have to be charged to replace the small amount from 80 million households? And how much money would _you_ be willing to pay for a "subscription" to TCM every month? Getting 25 cents from every household with TCM on their cable/dish line-up ensures TCM's survival. TCM would stop being the channel we recognise and appreciate if the revenue stream underwent such a severe contraction that comes with an "ala carte" or "individual user" pricing system. It isn't the "niche" channels that drive up the price of one's monthly cable bill. It is the ever escalating costs for "local" broadcast channels and the ubiquitous sports networks. (ESPN and Fox Sports networks - combined - are approaching nearly $7.00/month in carriage charges.) If one wants to save a lot of cash on their cable bill each month, advocate for a "sports-free" programming choice. Otherwise, the only alternative to TCM's programming is a subscription to Netflix - which can be streamed online, I hear. But that may not be too economical much longer either. Comcast is trying to extort money from the company Netflix uses to deliver video to customers because it is a "burden and strain" on their broadband service. (Of course, Hulu isn't being asked to pony up an additional "fee". Hmmm.) Kyle (Against the NBC-Universal/Comcast merger) In Hollywood -
