  7. I am surprised to learn FMC isn't showing *Miracle On 34th Street* this holiday season. If Fox didn't have it embargoed for use on FMC, I would think TCM would have gotten its hands on it for December. And because Fox has let TCM have the film for next year's "31 Days ..." event in February, I am sure TCM asked for the holidays. But can't understand why they would say "no" - unless some other channel has the rights. (But which?) But *Home Alone* can stay on FMC, thank you very much. Kyle In Hollywood

"Moguls And Movie Stars" Miscellany _Clara Bow Photograph and Paramount Contract (1926)_ A single-page contract, dated April 12, 1926, signed in black ink by Famous Players-Lasky Corporation production executive Sam Jaffe and silent-era starlet Clara Bow. The contract engaged her services from June 6 to December 6, 1926 during which she made "It," the movie that defined her career and her sex appeal.

  18. *"You know what? Screw that. There was nothing provocative about the Footlight Parade poster."* - Minya You're correct and I agree. Unlike the *Ecstasy* image removed earlier (and which contained pictorial nudity) this image shouldn't make anyone blush - let alone offend. If a member here was offended and flagged the post, they erred in their assessment of what they were "seeing." But for WebAdmin to then remove the image without looking closely or using their own faculties to determine the validity of the complaint is the bigger problem and is one without reason. *"Kyle, don't let ignorance, stupidity, and ill-considered actions drive you away."* - ValentineXavier When those granted the power to censor what is posted here fail to use good judgement or rational thought in the exercise of their duties and takes action against me without explanation, it is a slap in my face. There is a surplus of ignorance, stupidity and bad manners among the denizens of this place (though it is concentrated among a _very_ small number of posters) that I battle on a weekly basis. That those being paid to patrol these pages are now enabling the foolish is too disheartening to overlook. It takes a high level of arrogance to believe knowing how to do something is no different than knowing what to do. And it is very irresponsible to act in such an ill-considered manner. Kyle (Isn't that a nude in the *The Naked Maja* poster?) In Hollywood
  19. OK Folks. I am going to upload today's images one more time. If they are removed again because some prude sees things that _aren't_ there, I am packing it in. And this thread and all the others will go with me. The unceremonious and unexplained deletion of the one-sheet poster for *Footlight Parade* is an insult I won't forgive easily. WebAdmin knows how to get in touch with me. They even have my personal email. If they had bothered to read my reply to "DougieB" about the inferred "nakedness", they would have learned that it wasn't the case. But "reading" must not be a prequisite to being censor. And to make it all the more infuriating, the same image is displayed by TCM in this very website. It is used on the cover for the DVD for sale in the "Shop" section, for crissakes! http://turnerclassic.moviesunlimited.com/Product.asp?sku=D51610&shopRef= [img=http://turnerclassic.moviesunlimited.com/boxcovers/250_Wide/D51610.jpg] http://turnerclassic.moviesunlimited.com/boxcovers/250_Wide/D51610.jpg I suddenly know how Shirley Sherrod felt. But I am ready to go out like Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Kyle In Hollywood --------------------- Monday, November 22nd _Moguls And Movie Stars, Episode Four_ "Brother, Can You Spare A Dream?" (1929-1941)
  20. *"But the games and triva that is part of "Fun Stuff" is a horse of a different color. At least I think it is."* - lzcutter No. You're right - and WebAdmin is in error again. Kyle In Hollywood

  23. *"Is this for the American release of "Footlight Parade"? If so, I'm stunned. They're naked. (No, I'm not complaining.)"* - DougieB Yes, it is. But the gals really aren't naked. They've been painted wearing the costumes for the "By A Waterfall" number. If you look closely, you can see the outline of the wrap-around garment. Here's a handbill for the film showing the costumes as they appeared in the film. A selection of of seven different handbills were posted last December. All are still accessible by clicking through on the one above. Kyle In Hollywood
