*"Now how are we to ignore the John Ford banter when we keep getting more and more John Ford posters?"* - FrankGrimes Careful there FG. You just might be run over by a *Stagecoach*. Actually, it could be about SIX *Stagecoaches* as I think that's the number of unique images I have for the film. Don't worry though. "The Great Appeaser" has a special treat for you tomorrow.. Hello all - It is with a great deal of embarassment that I acknowledge that on May 30^th^ I posted an image for *She Wore A Yellow Ribbon* that I had posted earlier. (Feb. 17^th^) I've kept notes of what images I have posted already so as not to repeat an image but somehow this one slipped by. I guess all those Oscar Month posters got jumbled in my brain. And the only Ford "Cavalry" poster that I remembered uploading was for *Rio Grande* - not for *She Wore A Yellow Ribbon*. So, as a gesture of penance, here's a new *She Wore A Yellow Ribbon*. It is the only other one that I have so don't expect another. And sadly, I don't have a *Fort Apache* poster so the "trilogy" will go unfilled in here. Sorry 'bout that. Kyle In Hollywood -

Hello Mike Burns - Welcome the Gallery Thread. I've been told this thread is pretty popular. ( And just ignore the Gary Cooper & John Ford banter. It is safer that way. But then I am also a proud appeaser. ) I just read your comments at "Flickr". Thanks for those. I really appreciate your making note of the WWI posters from the Library Of Congress. i was really proud to have found those and to have shared them during Memorial Day. I, too, think the tagline for *The Clock* is special but the portraits are what puts it into the category of sublime - in my opinion. I see you have a "Flickr" account yourself (Nice original artwork there, Mr. Burns.) but in case you don't know, in my account only the 150 most recent posters are available for viewing. But there are many more posters in this thread than those 150. You just can't see them at"Flickr". (I have a free account that limits the number of images seen at any one time to 200.) Those files cover the months of November, December and January. So if you want to see the oldest poster images, you'll have to browse through this thread. Just hit the link for the "Original Post" in the header for this thread and you'll be swept to the very beginning and then be able page forward. It is a bit more cumbersome than seeing them in a photostream at "Flickr" but it is the only option right now. And I think you'll enjoy *The Sin Of Nora Moran*. For months it was the most popular image in my account - with *No Room Of Her Own* a close second. Once again, thanks for the kind words and I am glad you found your way here. (Also happy you know where to find the Monthly Grid too.) I hope you keep coming back. Now I have to right a wrong from the end of May. I duplicated a posting. Horrors! And I have too many unposted images to let that stand. Kyle In Hollywood -

*"...is the poster faded- or is that woman exposing her breast to the Genreal Yen?!* - joefilmone *Bitter Tea Of General Yen* is one of the poorest quality posters I have posted. I tried to clean it up with what few rudimentary tools I have on this computer. But, just in case someone can do a better job, here's a link to the original file. One should be able to access the largest size available through the thumbnail. I wish I could have posted a better quality image but thought posting even this low-quality image was better than nothing - especially given how "important" this film is to this community. So go ahead and "touch" - or re-touch the original image. Unlike the film, there's nothing daring about it. (Unless there _is_ some "**** action" to be found.) Kyle In Hollywood -

Where is option to print "This Month on TCM"
hlywdkjk replied to thewaymouth's topic in PROBLEMS with the Message Boards
*"Does TCM still offer this option?"* - thewaymouth Hi Mike. If you are trying to find the monthly PDF file, it is available off the TCM homepage. Click on the "clipart" image on the left side of the banner at the top of this page. At the homepage you will see a "What's On Tonight" listing on the left side of the page. Below that there is a link for the "Primetime Grid". Click on that, you'll get a pop-up window and choose the Download option. A new page will open displaying the PDF file of the Primetime lineup for the month of June. You can find the current month's Primetime grid after the first of every month. And just to make June easy, see if this direct link works. http://i.cdn.turner.com/v5cache/TCM/Files/Static/June2008_schedule.pdf Hope this helps Mike. Kyle In Hollywood -
Born and raised a "Cheesehead", this one comes easily. *Our Vines Have Tender Grapes* (1945) w/ Edward G Robinson and Margaret O'Brien http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=360 "A Norwegian farmer tries to raise two children in the Midwest (Wisconsin)." *All Mine To Give* (1958) w/ Glynis Johns and Cameron Mitchell http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=67069 "While hauling his crying sister on a small sled through the freezing snow, young Robbie Eunson recalls how their situation came about: In September 1856, Robbie's father Robert and his pregnant wife Mamie arrive in backwoods Wisconsin from the Shetland Islands in Scotland." *Come And Get It* w/ Edward Arnold, Joel McCrea and Frances Farmer http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title.jsp?stid=71266 No location citation at TCMDB. But I've seen it and know this Edna Ferber story takes place in Northern Wisconsin. Kyle In Hollywood

I just realized the image I posted below is only 450 pixels wide. That is smaller than I usually post and definitely smaller than the size of the original image. So, here y'all go - Click through and hopefully you can get to a larger version that is 679 x 1024. But even that is smaller than the original on my hard drive. ('flickr' won't allow a file that large to its site.) If one wants the "original size" (1170 x 1770), just drop me a line with an email adress. Kyle In Hollywood -

Minya - Thanks for the OTR site. I can always use another source for these shows. I've actually been listening to "Fibber McGee and Molly" (from which "The Great Gildersleeve" was spun off) for the past few months I also like "Suspense" and Welles in "The Lives Of Harry Grimes". Thanks again. Kyle In Hollywood -
*"I think they also added a Chan flick too, at the wrap-up of the detective/mystery night, clearly one of my favorite evenings of TCM ever!"* - markbeckhuaf And I think you're right about that too. Sounds like we both are looking forward to June. Thanks for reassuring me that my sanity hasn't fled the building. Kyle In Hollywood

*The Slanted Screen* was not on that tentative schedule. - FrankGrimes Whew! Thank You, FG. So I am not turning into Uncle Billy ( *It's A Wonderful Life* ) after all. You'll find a token of my appreciation in the Poster Gallery tomorrow. (Well, it's been planned for a month but you'll like just the same.) Kyle In Hollywood

HI all. I'm dragging this thread out of the bowels of the Forums because I saw something "new" in the schedule for June today and I am wondering if it actually is a new addition or if it was there all the time. A few posts below I wrote about a documentary that explored images of Asian-American men called *The Slanted Screen*. I had seen it on a regional PBS channel a year or so ago. I found it quite enlightening - especially in its examination of Sessue Hayakawa who was a true "matinee idol" during the silent era. Anyway, today I was browsing the June schedule and there on the very first day of the "Race In Hollywood: Asians In Film" event is *The Slanted Screen* (June 3^rd^, 7pmEDT / 4pmPDT) . Does anyone remember if this was on the schedule when it was first posted? I know I am getting up there in age - and my eyes aren't what they used to be but I don't think I would have missed TCM's inclusion of this film on the schedule. And, if you haen't guessed, I do recommend seeing *The Slanted Screen*. The film covers television along with film but includes some very insightful commentary from current and past stars in Hollywood. If you remember seeing this as part of the schedule months ago, please let me know. If I am "losing it", at least I'll know when it started and can include it in my obituary. Well, I guess the Programming Dept is planning a long vacation this summer. Can't remember when - or if - there ever has been five months of schedules out at the same time (May - Sept). And a quick caveat. Bear in mind that this is TCM's "working schedule" and is subject to changes. 'tcmprogrammr' recently posted to that effect in a message found in this thread - http://forums.tcm.com/jive/tcm/message.jspa?messageID=8094209#8094209 So I wouldn't print out this schedule until at least July. I am so looking forward to the "Campaign/Election/Politics Films" being shown on Wednesday nights. Please make a note to record *Four Days In November* on Wednesday, Sept. 17^th^. It is a documentary covering the assasination of John Kennedy and its aftermath. Culled from television and film sources of the time, it is quite moving and very enlightening. It was my schedule highlight years back when TCM showcased documentary films over an entire month. (And a special *Woo Hoo* for a TCM showing of *The Great McGinty* the following Wednesday!) Kay Francis? Meh. Is she related to Connie Francis? Or Arlene Francis? OK. I kid. If it takes a month of Kay Francis to get *Trouble In Paradise* back on the schedule (Thursday 11^th^), fine by me! *The King And I* returns in a night of Yul Brynner films and the Jose Ferrer films pre-empted for the recent tribute to Charlton Heston have been rescheduled too. And a huge hug for scheduling/premiering *Sophie's Choice*. Words cannot express... But I can't believe that a new slate of Disney films have surfaced - including *Old Yeller* and *The Parent Trap* - and no one has mentioned it yet. Have we become bored with these Disney Live-Action films already? Well done TCM Programming Staff. Hope you all enjoy your summer. Kyle In Hollywood
