Hi JackBurley - "Living In The Past" are we? Fred may be correct about the "all" option. I do know that the Message Board archives are a bit "wonky" since the "upgrade". (I've heard another fix/upgrade is on the way.) I do think it helps to include the name of a poster when doing your search. And it can sometimes take multiple tries - at different times of the day. Also try different arrangements of the search terms in the window. I recently looked for a post with the press release on the Paramount Leases starting in 2008 and I had to search about five times for it to finally get listed. But I don't know if one can go back as far as the early years of the decade. There was a major overhaul around 2005 ( hence so few membership dates prior to that year ) and that makes threads from that era hard to locate. Otherwise "How Are Ya!"? It's great to see your name around here. Kyle In Hollywood

PC49 - These are not the most "viewer friendly" sites for getting the European schedules but they are the only ones that I know of that may have the info you seek. This site - http://europe.turnerinfo.com/ has links to the Corporate Websites for all Euopean Turner Networks. One of which is TCM. On the above page you will see a TCM area (with the Clint Eastwood Image) with a drop down window listing various TCM satellite feeds for Europe. I believe one of the following two options will cover Cyprus. There is one listed as "Pan Euro Middle East and Africa". But you mentioned that you only receive TCM each day after 4pm and this satellite feed is 24-hours/Day. Just in case, here is a direct link to a page with a link to a PDF with the monthly schedule for February 2008. http://europe.turnerinfo.com/TCM/PAN/schedules/index.jsp This daily schedule starts at 600CET so this may not apply. A second offering is listed as "Central and Eastern Europe". This offers schedules for two different satellite feeds one which is 24-hours/Day and another that runs from 2100 - 0300 CET. You can access the schedule choices here - http://europe.turnerinfo.com/TCM/CEE/schedules/index.jsp But having looked at both options (in a PDF or a 'doc' file) the "short schedule' is just an abbreviated offering of the 24-Hour/Day schedule. For simplicity, I'd download/open the PDF for the entire day. It is possible that ATHENASAT splits the channel with the Cartoon Network during the day and TCM only in the evening. If that is the case, the 24-Hour/Day PDF schedule may still apply. (This schedule starts at 300 CET) For February 1st, it lists the titles - 03.00 CET The Fastest Gun Alive - Glenn Ford 04.30 CET Marie Antoinette - Norma Shearer 07.00 CET The Comedians - Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor If any of this looks familiar for today, then this is the feed you are receiving and you'll have to "edit" the schedule accordingly. I hope one of these options has what you are looking for. If not, you can look at the other European options available from the first link I provided and hopefully find something that applies to your location/situation. And I suggest you bookmark the page when you find the correct schedule for Cyprus. If all else fails, I'd contact ATHENASAT. They may know where you can access a TCM schedule for your use. Good Luck! 31 Days Of Oscar Movie Posters Friday February 1st - -
"Last weekend I went to see JUNO at my local Regal cinema and they showed the TCM promo! Very cool to see it on a big movie screen." - SandyKaypax Thanks for sharing that Sandy. I hadn't heard anyone mention that TCM's promos had been seen in the theaters lately so I wasn't sure if it still was going on. So, was there any reaction by the audience or was it received just like any other "advertisement" - indifferent at best? Kyle In Hollywood

"I asked a simple question..." - kriegerg69 Yes you did. It was rather angry sounding and accusatory, but you did ask a simple question. And the reply, from what I read and "understand", agreed with your opinion (albeit in a oblique and sardonic manner) that the quality of the print of the film was "lacking". But you didn't read it that way and took offense to the poster and their reply. And then you insulted that poster with sarcasm. Sorry you were disappointed in the showing of the film and that it wasn't in better shape for recording. But you shouldn't take out your frustration on someone who shared your opinion. So TCM. is it possible to acquire a better print of Castle Of The Living Dead? The print shown yesterday, from what I hear, is kinda shabby. If you have the chance, could you look into this. The Castle fans would appreciate it, I am sure. Kyle In Hollywood

papag88 / Mike - I am happy you found your way into the TCM Forums and pleased you found out how impressed many of us are with the piece you've created. Bravo! And I hope you were flattered at my suggestion that Chuck Workman may have been involved with the creation of the piece. The caliber of the work is equal to many of his compilations. (And if he is part of your organization, then the jokes on me for not knowing that.) Kyle In Hollywood

"It's a finely choreographed dance of film clips and real set pieces that transition with grace and aplomb." So true. I love the corn stalks sliding by on stage while Cary Grant flees the crop duster on the screen, the train tracks slipping underneath the screen while the "Stand By Me" boys cheer on their scampering friend and the on-stage prison bars that cage Cody Jarrett. But you are correct. The best is definitely the set-transition from the "Raging Bull" boxing ring to the "Some Like It Hot" dance hall. (Love the way the lights reconfigure themselves!) But what is with the "chandelier" that breaks up the screen after the "North By Nothwest" sequence? Or is it something else that comes down from the rafters and quickly swings about before rising back up out of the frame? Previous "31 Days..." promos have been included in the "On Demand" menu in the past. So far, this new piece (15 second version) has been included as a "trailer" attached to new films added to the "On Demand" menu but not as a "stand alone" selection. I hope the two-minute version of the promo is made available there this year. (And Time-Warner adds it to the line-up.) I also think this piece would be a "traffic-stopper" if it was shown on the jumbo screens in Times Square and Hollywood Blvd. Even without the "soundtrack, it is so visually interesting that it would demand to be watched by passers-by. (Do TCM pieces still run in movie theaters on occassion? Any one seen one lately? I remember posters sayng that the "TCM Credit Roll" was showing in theaters for awhile?) Kyle In Hollywood ps - I think this piece has an original score.

Wednesday January 30th - In Recognition of "Star Of The Month" James Cagney. -
fishandchips23 - None of us here are too familiar with the European/Asian/African feeds of TCM but I'll do my best in your search for a schedule. Go to this page - http://europe.turnerinfo.com/ On this page there are links to multiple Turner International Networks. In the section devoted to TCM (with the Clint Eastwood picture) there is a drop down menu listing all the separate European, et.al. satellite feeds - one of which is "Pan Euro/Middle East/Africa" . Let's assume that the UAE is covered by this regional version of TCM. Highlight the above selection and hit "go". This will take you to a Corporate Page for this particular feed of TCM. On this page, there is a menu on the left side of the page that includes a page for accessing schedules. Click on it and you will find a page offering PDF downloads of schedules for January and February that should correspond to the Middle East satellite feed. If this is the correct satellite feed, you should be good to go (Does The Champ, Ben-Hur, IVictor/Victoria and I Am A Fugitvie From A Chain Gang sound familiar for January 29th?) and you might want to then bookmark that page and check back every month for a current schedule. If, for some reason, this schedule doesn't correspond to your particular TCM satellite feed, I would explore some of the other International TCM options accessible from the the first link I gave above. That page may not be the most user-friendly site where to find the schedule info but it is the only one that I know of. Good Luck. Kyle In Hollywood

"The best poster you have posted yet! - FrankGrimes That was the biggest, wettest slobbering "KissUp" I could find. I hope you enjoyed it as I don't plan on doing it again anytime soon. Kyle (feeling so ashamed) In Hollywood -
nwick - I believe this works when at the schedule page in the banner above. First make sure you have selected "Central Time Zone" while the daily listings are displayed. (The little window on the left side of the page below the row of dates. Choose "CT") Then click on the link for the monthly listings page. It should then display the monthly schedule in the Central Time Zone. If I am wrong about that, you can use these links - For January - http://www.tcm.com/schedule/month/?cid=N&timezone=CST For February - http://www.tcm.com/schedule/month/?cid=N&timezone=CST&oid=2/1/2008 For March - http://www.tcm.com/schedule/month/?cid=N&timezone=CST&oid=3/1/2008 Kyle In Hollywood

Hello Amber - This isn't the type of film I usually know anything about - but I happened to catch part of the film last November when it was introduced by Guest Programmer Danny DeVito. The title is The Devil Doll from 1936. It stars Lionel Barrymore and was directed by Tod Browning. You can read the TCM webarticle about the film here - http://www.tcm.com/thismonth/article/?cid=36829 and the entry in the tcmdatabase here - http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/title.jsp?stid=3340 So you're not delusional just yet. Hi Gregory1965 - Glad you like the poster. I don't know the answers to your questions. We may be able to learn more when the accompanying articles for the "31 Days..." event are available online. They will probably be up this week. But maybe someone else knows about the DVD. Kyle In Hollywood -
Hi Madeleine2322 - An "e-card" is a type of pictoral e-mail message. If you click on the link below, you will see a selection of images from TCM Films. Any of them can be made into personal messages for friends or family members with an email address. http://www.tcm.com/ecard/category/?cid=187551&begin=10 This page is for the "Fighting 69th" e-card. If you wanted to create a message to accompany that image, just fill in all the fields including a message to your friend/family member, put in the email address of your friend/family member and then hit the preview button. If you like what you see, hit send. The recipient will get a message with a link to click on to retreive their message. If you want to see /send a different image, click on any of the images on the right side of the page and go through the smae steps.. There are also other images available by clicking on the number links below the line-up of images on the right side of the page. If you want to try it out, send one to yourself. Hope this all makes sense. If you try it out and have trouble, write again. Glad to see you around here! Kyle In Hollywood

"Actually, I think the first modern film that really "opened the gates" was a British film: MAURICE. " Not disagreeing with you but I am watching The Lion In Winter On Demand as I type this. I can't help but be surprised at the film's casualness in the dealing with the affair between Dalton and Hopkins. (not to mention Henry's proclamation that he bedded little boys.) Add in the "bitchy" dialogue and it is almost as "gay" as Boys In The Band. Kyle In Hollywood
