*"Do they sell haggis burger at the In and Out? That's all I eat."* JonMelville
Even on In-N-Out's "secret menu", I've not seen any haggis.

But I do see you have a high tolerance for gentle teasing about your heritage. You can even throw in yourself. That's good. We'll get along well.

*Now, Voyager* was on my list of films I would enjoy seeing at the Festival. But the "competition" is too tough.
It is showing opposite *To Kill A Mockingbird*, *Girl Crazy*, the Peter O'Toole Interview and Leslie Caron's conversation in Club TCM.
If you watch the recording, you will definitely have other interesting options to fill those two hours at the Festival. But it is up to you.

*"A tall, Scottish man? Ooohhh....I'll be there, all right."* - SueSue
Mr. Melville could be a not-too-distant relative of Sean Connery. (Google Is Your Friend, SueSue)
And it seems he has a bit of a name for himself in Scotland. I'm impressed. Very impressed.

*"Kyle, are you going to the San Francisco one?"* - BSG
No. A bit too far for a one-night stand. But a friend and I are going to see *From Here To Eternity* with Ben and Ernest Borgnine on Thursday. (Hopefully we'll get in.)
After his appropriate footwear for *Rio Bravo*, I wonder if Ben will wear army boots to this screening?

Yes. "Lost" here refers to legal issues that kept it from the public for many years. But it also includes a "restoration" of certain elements that had been removed.

I didn't see *Dondi* but are you sure it was replaced with *The More The Merrier* ? Both were scheduled to run in the morning of the 3rd - *Dondi* at 8:00am EDT and *The More The Merrier* at 10:00am EDT. The monthly schedule still displays that as being the line-up that morning -

If it had changed, that page would reflect what was shown instead.
I don't know what happened to the cable guide that it gave conflicting information that day. Sorry you missed it.

*"Why doesn't someone in the film tell the audience why Charlotte puts up with all that abuse from her mother?"* - FCD
It is there. Charlotte asks her mother why "Father" didn't set up a trust fund for her when he set them up for all her older brothers and sisters. So you learn that all the other children got their money (thus their independence) long ago - but Charlotte, who had no such arrangement, was left to be dependent on her mother (and mother's passing) to receive her share of the family estate. Though it may not have been designed that way, the result was that as Charlotte grew older, she would be bound to her mother as her caretaker/companion. At least that was how her mother used the arrangement. Though I am not sure if that was the very reason for Charlotte's birth. That area is rather "gray."
*"And why doesn't Paul Henreid divorce his wife and marry Charlotte?"*
Because Jerry is "proper and respectable" - or some such description. Maybe the line is "one of those honorable types". It is found in the conversation between Charlotte and the female friend of Jerry's she meets on the liner. Jerry feels obligated to provide for his wife and family. A divorce may have a detrimental on his career as an architect. Plus there was the threat that a divorce may result in his "losing" Tina - who was more important to him than his wife. All in all, he stayed for the sake of the children. A very honorable thing to do.

*"A million thanks not only for the French poster of Mockingbird but that beautiful photo of Mary Badham."* - lzcutter
You're welcome. Looking at the schedule, you didn't have too difficult a decision to make that day. But I guess I'll be at the O'Toole taping alone that afternoon. I'll try to take notes.

Wow! What a wonderful evening you had!
How great that you met a gentleman on line that had such interesting stories to tell AND that he met Greer Garson. Now THAT'S serendipity. (Give your sweetie an elbow in the ribs from me for that "oh brother..." comment, OK?)
A compliment from Angie Dickinson and front row seats for the discussion. Plus a great movie in a great theater. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday night.
I am so pleased you got to attend. I hope it was everything that you dreamed it would be. Thanks for the deatils and thanks for the great photos.
