I LOVE the three stooges. I started watching them since I was 5 years old. I do hope that TCM shows some of the movies they starred in. I'm also hoping that TCM shows shorts like "Plane Nuts" and "Beer and Pretzels" as part of their FESTIVAL OF SHORTS.

I absolutely LOVE Norma Shearer!
I first saw her on The Women, which is now one of my all-time favorite movies. I also liked her in Strange Interlude, they don't show that movie on TCM as much as the others.

Astairegirl with another comment/question for Y-O-U!
There's just something about musicals that...well, it's hard to explain. It's very unrealistic, but that's the fun in watching it. Breaking out in song, dancing in the streets, and everyone else joins and happen to know the song and dance steps and don't think you are weird.
Anyway, besides the rambling, do any of you like musicals? Do you get the songs stuck in your head and can't get it out? Does it make you want to "get up and dance"?

I've been watching movies starring the Marx Brothers ever since I recorded them. I knew they were funny, but had never watched any of their movies. They're hilarious. I love comedy, so, I really enjoy them along with the other comedians in the April Fools Festival.

i agree. i think that a movie needs to "stand the test of time." and i agree about taking the "Classic" out of the AMC channel. I don't know what happened to that channel. they used to show some pretty good, COMMERCIAL-FREE movies.

How did you fall in love with old movies?
were you just surfing through the channels one day and happened to come across one? did you watch an old movie at a friend's house and wanted to see more?
I guess now is a good time to tell you how i became hooked.
i was in the seventh grade. the week before christmas break. every class was taking finals except for my Bible Quizzing class. we had a party and one of the kids brought "Holiday Inn."
I was hooked. I also fell in love with Fred Astaire, and was swooning over Bing Crosby's voice!
I'm 18 now, and I still can't get my fill. I don't think that space will ever get full.

You know, with the April Fools Festival, I believe that TCM has squeezed almost every single comedian into one month, but of all the comedians shown this month, I think one other group on funnies is missing.
Give up? The Three Stooges!

Thank you, thank you, TCM for showing these hilarious movies. My mom and I recorded every single Laurel & Hardy program. Being a big silent movie fan, I recorded Harold Lloyd, and i'm looking forward to watching Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
I can't wait to watch the Marx Brothers, Abbot and Costello, and all the other comedians! Thanks again, TCM!

i think he was a very talented man. talented, but not as funny as the other silent comedians. i watched some of his silent movies monday. i liked them. i especially liked the one that co-starred one of my favorite stars-- Buster Keaton

So far, I'm the only one I know that enjoys watching silent movies. It's very entertaining. It shows how simple life was and how people made movies back then. People now days do not take the time to appreciate what people did a hundred years ago. if it weren't for them, we wouldn't have a theatre to go to or a movie to watch! Does anyone agree with me?

here's another one!
I've always liked watching old movies, but I didn't fall in love with old movies until I was 14. It all started when I was surfing through the channels and I came across a Harold Lloyd silent comedy. I liked it, and the rest is history. I'm 19 now, and more in love with old movies now than I was five years ago!
