Mr. Versitle...Jimmy Stewart. His range of roles is incredible and to think that he hasn't had a month devoted to him

Anyone have a favourite silent film or film star? Mine is The Cameraman with Buster Keaton.
Let me Know!

Laurel and Hardy are wearing what seems to be kilts and are picking up rubbish while dancing. It is halariously funny and does anyone know what the name of the movie is?

Thankyou both for your suggestions but i do think it is the cameraman, he is seen running up and down apartment stairs.

Shes under-rated and talented. Anyone have a favourite? I like her earlier films, such as The Red Mill which was directed by William Goodrich (AKA Fatty Arbuckle)

Buster Keaton was in a movie where he is waiting for his girlfriend to call- and it is a halarious scene where he is in his apartment trying to open a jar of dimes.
Ring any bells? please let me know

Well this is COMPLETELY opposite to what you have all said. The movie which had the waterworks leaking was Arsenic and Old Lace. I was laughing so hard i was crying- so i guess it's kind of the same thing.
Anyone else find it halarious?

I assume you are all from U.S.A. I am an Aussie and agree with your suggestion to show silent films so often. Does anyone know if they play them in Aussie, and are our timetables the same?

Your right! So do you think i should continue this topic..with harder ones?

Jimmy Stewart. I know, thats an interesting chocie for 'handsomeness' but i love his "aww shucks" look. It's just darling!
Marilyn Monroe would be my choice for women, her and Viven Leigh.

I am starting a new trivia called 'Alive or goooone?'. I will say a famous actor/actress and you tell me if they are alive or gone.
First up: Eva Marie Saint (PLayed Eve Kendell in North by Northwest)

I'm only 13 and have recently discovered old hollywood- and loving it. The quality of acting and storylines is far better than the O.K stuff today. I love Jimmy Stewart, and how could anyone compare him to an actor today- for example? Actors now have to live up to the standards set by old Hollywood, and they just can't do it.
Well, that's my opinion

I agree. It is hard to pick a favourite with his amazing storylines and cast. Keep those favourites coming!
