  2. I believe the movie is 1960's" Hell to Eternity" with Jeffery Hunter. Based on a true story of Guy Gabaldon a hispanic boy raised by Japanese American foster family in the 1930's. Good Flick. vallo

  4. Some people love to complain, before TCM we had to rely on other channels and HOPE they ,1st-show our favorites and 2nd.-show them uncut and without commercials. I've watched AMC from it's start when it was called "Montages" and showed only 2 or 3 movies a night,then repeating them.Now they edit them to bits. So each day I notice more and more younger people checking out older Classic movies. Like HelenBaby said If you don't like it, change the channel but, you'll never fine another channel dedicated to showing the best that Hollywood has to offer. And even if the film is repeated and it's good, I'd watch it several times because it's what I want in my entertainment.So go ahead switch but I bet you'll be back. vallo

  7. This is one of my favorites. I just purchased a used VCR tape of this great film.(Amazon) Jimmy Durante is a howl as Banjo and you got to love Billie Burke. I waited and waited for this to be on DVD but I had to have it for my collection. Great Christmas movie also. Thanks Dave for mentioning this. vallo

  11. Usually this movie is shown in New York on PBS channels 13 or 21 from time to time,and it was the first movie for the new reorganized Universal-International to put them into the big leagues.But,it unfortunately didn't. vallo

  16. I'd have to say Burt Lancaster in "Field of Dreams" although he made some TV movies after Field of Dreams, It was his last Movie role as Dr Archibald "moonlight"Graham. Small part but he really made the picture worth seeing. great line: Just once, to stare down a big league pitcher.To stare him down just as he goes to wind up.wink, make him think you know something he doesn't. vallo
