I'm not sure of the film. But alot of character actors made a living playing drunks on film. Robert Benchley, Roscoe Karns and a few others come to mind.

Very talented and Very Underrated, She acts (still is at 70), sings, produces and writes and was nominated for a Grammy Award. Always brought something extra to her roles. A true artist in her field. Unfortunately she was saddled with some pretty lame films later in her career

The film is "The Old Dark House" 1963 Directed by William Castle. Not to be confused with the 1932 film with the same title. Sad because it's not available on Home Video
