It may have happened when he served as a 2nd lieutenant in World War 1. Or he was known for his fighting so that maybe someone broke his jaw/face.

Your description is vague it could be Mario Lanza. Here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0487292/
Any other clues?
It could even be Enrico Pallazzo from The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!

I don't think the TV show by Disney was ever released on Home Video. However the Herbie Collection of films can be found here:http://www.moviesunlimited.com/musite/product.asp?sku=D61244&loc=title
Hope that helped...

It is a good film 7 nominations. Heckart won her only Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Shame about Edward Albert he passed a year after his Dad.

I would especially since it?s not available on Home Video. Any excuse to see Karloff prior to Frankenstein should be worth while. One reviewer gave it 8 out of 10.

For Mis-communication
Babes in Toyland aka: March of the Wooden Soldiers 1934 (with Laurel & Hardy)
The Toy Maker: What do you think of the wooden soldiers?
Santa Claus: They're nice but they're not what I ordered. I ordered 600 soldiers one foot high.
Stannie Dum: Oh I thought you said 100 soldiers six feet high.
