"Come and Get It" and "A Thousand Clowns"

"Come and Get it" is one of my favorite Edward Arnold films. The whole Lumber Jack production is great. Walter Brennan is great as a swede. Farmer was a little stiff but she pulled off the two roles well. I purchased the DVD when it first was released. I wish they showed these kind of films on Friday Nights instead of the stuff on Tonight... vallo -
While your at it tell him to release "1950's Caged" already.... Thank you, vallo

It's on because it had a Best Song nominated:"Ready to Take a Chance Again" and the film made "Dudley Moore" a star. I still don't consider it a classic. vallo

Sounds like Hall had the same attitude about acting as Robert Mitchum and Stewart Granger. It was only a job. Liked "Ramar of the Jungle" as a kid... vallo

Yes it was Carole Lombard and George Raft. But it is not available on Home Video. Sorry......maybe E-bay.. vallo

"The Entertainer" - Why should I care?
vallo13 replied to Bronxgirl48's topic in General Discussions
Never really liked Olivier.. so I skipped this film numerous times. I'd rather watch 1983's "The Dresser" with Albert Finney and Tom Courtenay. vallo -
I saw a Gunsmoke episode with Bette Davis called "The Jailer". She was great and very intense. Watching her in her later years was a real treat. Co-Stars Bruce Dern as her Son...I love watching some older TV shows and say "Hey that's -----or, seeing them before they got big... vallo

With songs such as "That's My Desire," "Mule Train," "Jezebel," "I Believe" and "That Lucky Old Sun," Laine was a regular feature of the Top Ten in the years just before rock 'n' roll ushered in a new era of popular music. Somewhat younger listeners may remember him best for singing the theme to the television show "Rawhide," which ran from 1959 to 1966, and the theme for the 1974 movie "Blazing Saddles." He sold more than 100 million records and earned more than 20 gold records. Born Frank LoVecchio (that name sounds Familiar) Larry???? vallo
