  1. >>"Does anyone remember "Wonderama"? I believe the various hosts included Bob McAllister, Sandy Becker and Sonny Fox." <<

Believe it or not I was on Wonderama with Sonny Fox in 1962.(My Uncle worked for WNEW in New York) I got caught cheating in "Simon Says". I was one of the last to get out. The thing I hated was when they said OK kids time for a cartoon, they just took a break and edited the cartoons during the original run (too bad they didn't have VCR's) back then. I was in the first row next to twin girls (woo-woo) It was a blast but I was disappointed when I realized how fake the studio was. And it took 6 hours to make a 4 hour show with a lunch break (Hotdogs and chips)

TV was so much better then, instead of all this reality crap we get now.

  2. There are many we lost between this year and last. Some got tired of the complaints and arguing. And some lost hope in TCM. I go to a couple of Classic Sites and love the people here "the best". Yes there are the usual "trolls" but I always felt welcome. if not, I would still hang in there because we all have a common thread in Loving Films and I truly care for this site.

    >> Mrsl. said "she came on the boards and no one noticed". Well I noticed! and maybe we should have an "introduction thread" like other sites.

Hopefully I will see most of you on next year and as long as possible. So yes remember the fallen and hail the ones that hung in there to make this site a great place to be.

  3. Are you thinking of "Hell to Eternity" 1960 with Jeffrey Hunter and David Janssen

Plot: True life story of Guy Gabaldon, a Los Angeles Hispanic boy raised in the 1930s by a Japanese-American foster family.(loved this film,as a kid)

    it's only available on VHS.

  4. Hark01, While we like helping, when we can. your clues can be vague ( For example: is the bratty kid a girl? like "The Bad Seed" Plot Outline: An ideal housewife begins to suspect her loving adolescent daughter may be a heartless killer.

Or it could be "Talk About a Stranger" (1952) Plot Summary: Coming-of-age story about a bratty kid (Billy Gray) who takes an instant dislike to a strange new neighbor.

    **A little more would help.

  5. Anne, I have seen "Siriana" and some of his documentaries and many others. I think his Oscar was deserving. I think he is good director, producer and to many, a friend. I don't think he's a phoney like some stars. His attitude and love for his Dad is great to see in this day and age.

As far as Lizabeth Scott, she may have been a fair actress but I liked most of her films, and I happened to think she was good. And the rumors about her were uncalled for. (different strokes for different folks)

  6. Although he made a lot of films mostly uncredited. I would pick "Nick Cravet" for "The Crimson Pirate" and "The Flame and the Arrow" playing a mute do to his bad New York accent. He was also Burt Lancaster's Acrobat partner in real life.

Little Know fact: He also played the Gremlin Creature in "The Twilight Zone", TV Episode, The Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (1963) with William Shatner.

  7. Stoney, Are you sure we're not related? Home made wine,my Grandma made that and it would take the enamel off your teeth & honey balls- that's what we called them. My Mom gave me my Grandmothers recipe for Sauce (gravy as we called it) too bad no one has the recipe for the wine. *hic
