Bing Crosby: Screen Legend Collection [DVD]

This three-disc set features five of crooner Bing Crosby's classics! Martha Raye, Shirley Ross also star. An eccentric millionaire tests New Yorkers' moral mettle, with a fortune awaiting the most honest "contestant." See if Bing passes the test, in "Double or Nothing" (1937), with Andy Devine and William Frawley. Bing and a bouncing bundle of joy make a delightfully odd couple in the breezy "East Side of Heaven" (1939). Joan Blondell, C. Aubrey Smith co-star. Crosby is a warm-hearted construction worker caring for a friend's talented daughter, in "If I Had My Way" (1940). With Gloria Jean, Charles Winninger. Bing ac-cen-tu-ates the positive as a Navy songster who inspires singing twins (both played by Betty Hutton) to enlist, in "Here Come the Waves" (1944). Sonny Tufts, Ann Doran also star. 7 3/4 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English (SDH), French; theatrical trailer.
