TiVO just saves the film/or TV shows, so you could watch it... whenever. You need a DVR or DVD Recorder to enable you to burn DVD's. with a hard drive they cost around $300.00 bucks....

You're thinking of " Kiss of Death" in which Richard Widmark as giggling killer Tommy Udo pushes a wheelchair bound old lady down the stairs.

I always thought it was "Three Blind Mice" based on the nursery rhyme, just jazzed up.
or as Curley would say "Swing It!"

I believe you may be thinking of "Across The Pacific" with Humphrey Bogart where Victor Sen Yung plays stupid but really understands and speaks English well. A Spy Caper.

Mr. B this is what I found:
Bing Crosby: Screen Legend Collection [DVD]
This three-disc set features five of crooner Bing Crosby's classics! When the winner of the Miss Pineapple contest isn't enjoying her prize trip to Hawaii, publicist Tony Marvin (Crosby) manufactures the adventure of a lifetime, in "Waikiki Wedding" (1937). Martha Raye, Shirley Ross also star. An eccentric millionaire tests New Yorkers' moral mettle, with a fortune awaiting the most honest "contestant." See if Bing passes the test, in "Double or Nothing" (1937), with Andy Devine and William Frawley. Bing and a bouncing bundle of joy make a delightfully odd couple in the breezy "East Side of Heaven" (1939). Joan Blondell, C. Aubrey Smith co-star. Crosby is a warm-hearted construction worker caring for a friend's talented daughter, in "If I Had My Way" (1940). With Gloria Jean, Charles Winninger. Bing ac-cen-tu-ates the positive as a Navy songster who inspires singing twins (both played by Betty Hutton) to enlist, in "Here Come the Waves" (1944). Sonny Tufts, Ann Doran also star. 7 3/4 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English (SDH), French; theatrical trailer.
Category: Musicals
Academy Award?
Winner: Best Song ("Sweet Leilani")
Nominee: Best Dance Direction (Leroy Prinz)
Rated: NR B&W

Your clues are really vague. Could be "Keye Luke" or "Victor Sen Yung" or "Benson Fong" to name a few . Any others clues as to what type of film like Mystery, Comedy etc....would help...

The car is a Cord Convertible Coupe, likely a 1937 812 model. The fin tail body was a custom body.

Laurel & Hardy in "March of the Wooden Soldiers" AKA "Babes in Toyland" (1934) was a little weird when they colorize it. but always look forward to it.
