I am not sure if stepin fetchit is the person I am looking for in a movie about a comedy/ murder mystery. I know it was done in black and white, there was a black man in a fur coat, and there is a seal. it takes place in a manson on a cliff and someone has been murdered and no one is allowed to leave. if I remember correctly the black man sits in a chair and some one keeps hitting a putton and the chair flips back and the black man ends up in the water under the hosue. can anyone help. not sure what else to do.

I am tring to find out the name of a movie. it was done I believe in the 1940s. its B&W. its about a man and women whos bones have been put in two a well and they can't move on until someone finds out the truth that they were not traters. I beleve it is a comedy. please help it making me crazy.
