Hi Stoneyburke666, I just read your post, did we grow up in the same house? LOL. By the way I know i'm not spelling this name corectly but do you remember Rudy Ka Zoodie? If so you and I are the only ones that do LOL. I was at Shea Stadium when the Beatles were there. I was behind the fence not in the seats. After the show My friend and I jumped on the van that the Beatles were leaving on, and i got a quick glimps of Ringo. thank god the van was going slow. I fell off and almost broke my legs. A very stupid thing to do right? Wrong lol. Well that's about all for now. Please keep in touch ok?. Speak with you soon. sincerly Larry.

Hi Phoebe, My dauther Laura had seen To Kill A Mockingbird with me a few months ago. Of course she loved it, as she loves films almost as much as i do. A month later she was in school and was assigned to read To Kill a Mockingbird. A few weeks later she came to me and said "dad the book is'nt the same as the movie". I laughed and agreed. I told her that it would have been better if she had read the book first, and then seen the film. Who new that of all the books her teacher picked this one LOL. I made the same mistake With Gone With The Wind. The book was was some what different then the film.Even though i love GWTW, I'am sorry that i did'nt read the book first. So i do agree try and read the book first, then see the film and compare. sincerly, Larry.

Hi Stoneyburk666, I just read your post and got a chill lol.You have got to be from New York, to remember Captain Jack McCarthy, officer Joe Bolton ect. Even though I live in Indiana now I was born in Brooklyn,NY. funny thing that I was just thinking that everyone keeps writing Knucklehead Smiff. Until today I always thought his last name was Smith also lol. Thank you for bringing back childhood memories, of old time tv shows. Sincerly, Larry.

Hi Erzbet, was'nt that Jimmy Nelson who was the voice of Danny O Day, And Farel the dog lol?. Another great ventriloquist. By the way i wrote to Paul Winchell about 6 months ago, but he never replyed. I just read that Paul Winchell's son wrote that he learned of his fathers death from a friend of the family. He stated that his father was a very unhappy man. How very sad.All replys welcome. Larry.
-
Hi, I just heard that one of the greatest ventriloquist has died, Paul Winchell. Not only a ventriloquist, but a great inventor. I don't know about you, but I will truly miss him. Replys are of course welcome. Larry.

Hi, Was it House Of Wax? I'm not sure if this film was released in 1952, or 1953? Thanks, Larry.
-
Hi all, I would really love to see 1984 with Edmund O Brien. This film has'nt been on tv in many years, why I really don't know. I have the remake with Richard Burton, and I enjoyed watching this remake but It does'nt compare with the original.Sincerly, Larry.

Hi, Ive been reading the past posts about if TCM should allow cursing, nudty ect. Do you all want TCM to become another AMC {American Movies Classic} station. AMC badly edits ALL there films. Every 8-10 minutes breaks into a commerial. I was a loyal watcher of AMC till the station changed there format. We all should get down on our knees, and thank TCM for showing there films {free of charge} uncut, and unedited. If cursing, or nudity offends you then change the channel. Oh and bye the way I don't work for TCM LOL. I'll await replys. Sincerly, Larry. P.S. Please excuse my spelling.

Bravo to all. Wow that was answered fast. You all are really good. I really thought almost no one would know . Again BRAVO . Larry.

Hi Normandie7, Ya know i speak with many people that agree with you. They say it's overly long, that there is alot of over acting, and it's a soap opera. To each it's own. Why do I love so much? Maybe because it was one of the first epic films that I saw when I was young.I offten wondered if I would Feel the same without the great cast, and of course the music. I did see the film Scarlett, which was the sequel and hated it. Talk about a long film this bomb was 374 minutes long ouch. you spoke about the Third Man With Joseph Cotton, and Orson Wells, Wow I do agree a good film, But not one of my all time favorites. And yes It is hard to determine what is a favorite film, as you know what mine is LOL. My favorites Besides GWTW is Any Cagney, Bogart or Hepburn Films among others. But my granddaddy of them all is guess? lol. Well I could go on and on talking about films, I guess I need a life LOl. Hey keep in touch, and Well talk again another time. Sinercly, Larry.

Hi Vecchiolarry, I do agree that Hattie McDaniel was great, and that was a great sceen. My favorite line of hers was "it aint fitting, it just aint fitting". When she won the Oscar in 1939 someone asked her " are'nt you sick of playing maids in most of your films?" LOL Her reply was " I may play maids in movies, but I get paid a hellava lot more money then a maid does". She was a great lady. see ya soon. xxmass{Larry}

good morning, What actress said " I'm still big, it's the movies that got small". I'll wait for any reply. Larry.

Alix1929, I was just thinking that maybe we saw GWTW at the same theatre lol lol Larry.
-
Hi Normandie7, I watch TCM mainly, but there are times that I do watch other movies channels. A Tree Grows In Brooklyn has been on several times on Fox Movie Channel. And It's one of my all time favorites. The movie, not the channel LOL. Larry.
-
Hi Alix1929, Wow can I relate to what you said in your last post. Growing up in Queens NY, there was a theatre that was called The RKO Keith in Flushing NY. Wow what a theatre. When you sat down in your seat and looked up at the celling there were stars, It was like watching a film outside in the summer. The screen was so big, I also felt that I was back in 1939. That was the theatre that I saw GWTW for the first time. Nowadays movie theatres are so small, to see GWTW in them is not the same Yuk lol. Well thats all for now I guess, see ya soon. Sincerly, Larry.

Hi Vallo13, Thank you for sticking with me with all this crap that has been going on. It was embarrising, and very hurtful. I hope it's finally over. My love of film keeps me comming back to this site, to chat with nice people like you, and many others. maybe I overeacted to all this mess but i hope it's now in the past. I look foward to hearing yours, and others favorite likes, and dislikes about films. Thanks again, speak with you soon. Larry.

Hi normandie, Yes All About Eve is a great film, and what a cast. Bette Davis, Ann Baxter ect wow. As far as Bambi I can't watch it without crying lol, what a tear jerker. If you want to see a really great tear jerker, see The Search with Montgomery Clift OUCH. If this film does'nt make you cry your made of stone lol. Whats your fellings about Gone With The Wind?. Did you see it, Is it the greatest film of all time?. and if not what would you say your all time favorite is?. Hey please keep in touch, I'll be looking for your reply. Take care sincerly, Larry.

correction, I misspelled perfect, and I would'nt want Gypsy, or Neil correcting me again. Lol
-
Hi Phoebe, Thank you for your comments.Gypsy, and Neils intentions were to attack, not just me but anyone that isn't as perefect as they are. Now let's talk film lol. I started my collection back in 1980. I have always loved films, mainly old ones from 1930, to 1945. but my real love is of course Gone with the wind. I have about 5 copies, so that if one is damaged or lost I have back ups, nuts right??. What are your favorites? What All time film do you really love? Please keep in touch, I hope we will become film pen pals lol. take care, and speak with you soon Sincerly, Larry.
-
Gyspy, Neil, Overly dramatics is not my style. I have a question for both of you, Is it only me that you both attack, or others that aren't as perfect as both of you are?. I'm aware that my typing was anoying, which I now have corrected. As for my grammar, and spelling I really don't need people like you both correcting every little thing I write. I was under the impression that this site was for people that enjoy talking about films. When I was growing up I dealt with a bully that reminds me of both of you. That of course was face to face. As far as most of your comments towards me your DAM right I take these as insults. Gyspy as far as looking up words in a dictionary you do have a point, but I came to this site to chat with friendly people about films, not spelling, or grammar. I was taught many years ago " If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything". After I wrote I won't becoming back to this site, but after thinking about all your crap, well you both are'nt worth me not enjoying talking with others. I have always been a nice person, and I know that when I die I will go to heaven, but you both can go to hell. Larry
-
Hey Neil, Gyspy, this will be my last post. It's sad how you make a person feel. I could put you both down also, but I would'nt go down to your levels. Again thanks for making me feel so welcome. Larry.
-
Gypsy, by the way I spelled dose instead of does, needed to be corrected. I would'nt want to anoy a perfect person as youself. Larry
-
My dear Gypsy, I'am sorry that my typeing annoys you so much. When I type fast I don't realize that I'am doing it I guess, bad habit I guess. As far as my spelling, and gramma, well I guess same exuse typeing fast. Thank you for bringing these annoyences to my attenion. I'am here to dissuse films, and chat with nice people. As for my spelling yes it dose stink, maybe I'am not as smart as you. Well back to english class I go lol. Sincerly, Larry/Xxmass.
