widescreen in General Discussions Posted June 12, 2005 When were the first widescreen films made? I ask because I've noticed there aren't widescreen versions available - or shown on TCM - for some of my favorite movies (Maltese Falcon, for instance) and figured it simply wasn't made at the time?
