  1. I like Greta Garbo, but I'm not obsessed or anything. I think that a lot of people like her because her life was very mysterious. She tried to keep everything hidden from the public. I think she was a good actress, but I think many others were much better.
  2. We started watching the movie this morning and to my surprise everyone watched the whole time. Not one person said a word. I was shocked. I have to tell you guys what my teacher said before the movie: We're going to watch the movie, Mr. Smith Goes To Washington. It is an OLD movie. It's in black and white. I bet you guys haven't seen any black and white films before............. After he said that sentence, I almost burst out laughing. I bet I had seen more black and whites then everyone in the class combined, even the teacher. I enjoyed the movie a lot. We're only at the b
  3. Hey Rose When you say that the people in my class will be lucky to see the movie, I completely agree with you.But yesterday when my teacher was talking about it, no one wanted to watch it. I was in shock, they didn't want to watch a movie in school?!! Especially a movie with James Stewart, Jean Arthur, and Claude Rains. But there isn't anything I can do about their opinions. Even if they aren't going to enjoy it, I will.
  4. I'm so excited. For the next week our class will be watching Mr. Smith Goes To Washington. I've already seen this movie and I thought it was pretty good. I love James and Jean of course, but the only problem with it was that it got a little boring towards the end. Does everyone else feel the same about it? I'm also a little curious about the movie b/c I've only seen it once and I usually don't understand films completely the first time. This will be my second time and we will also be doing some worksheets on it in class. I'm looking forward to this next week in political science.
  5. Irene Dunne Vivien Leigh Myrna Loy Katharine Hepburn Ginger Rogers (in the movies that she was brunette) Audrey Hepburn and many others that I cannot think of right now......
  6. Sabrinafair, I know how you feel. My parents don't care for the classics as much as I do either. My dad likes the known classics like Casablanca and the Maltese Falcon, but he doesn't care for the other stuff. Too bad we don't go to the same high school, we could start the classic movie club.
  7. I love to start the club. Hanging up posters is a great idea. I think I'm going to highly consider starting the club my junior or senior year. I have to work on finding someone who loves classic movies like me.
  8. Rose, I know how you feel. I'm in high school and my room is covered in classic movie pics, I have a magazine from 1945 that I read sometimes, and I have autographs from people that my friends have never heard of. I often feel somewhat sorry for them because they're missing out on some great movies.
  9. I'm in high school and that sounds like a great idea. I've thought about it before, but I'm worried that no one would come to watch.
  10. I'm a Gregory Peck fan. He was such a great actor. I love him in To Kill a Mockingbird and Roman Holiday. I also share my birthday with him.
  11. Nevermind about that idea. I checked and it doesn't work.
  12. That's weird that your computer shows oldest to newest. Mine has always been newest to oldest. You can try fixing it by clicking on the "Your Control Panel" button. Good luck.
  13. I really wish I could have seen the private screenings with Betty Hutton, but I missed it. Does anyone know when it will be on again?
  14. Hey Marie and welcome to the boards. I am also a young classic movie fan. You'll love these message boards. It's so much fun reading about everyone's opinions.
  15. I don't know what they did. I tried figuring it out, but had no success.
