HI Robbie:
I think you pretty well have it. The only other times you are likely to find him is when they are showing the "Private Screenings" interviews. They are listed on the schedule.
-
It is available in the TCM video section.

You ask about the "Kathleen" scene. My thought on Wayne "holding back" is that he doesn't want to seem to forward. It is obvious they have had a passionate but troubled history. I think he doesn't really see her reactions to him and doesn't want to presume anything or make her feel like he is wooing her again when HE feels it would be out of place or too forward to give her the wrong idea.
You also asked about Wills cracking that stick across McLaglen's hand, I think. In the conversation he is cursing himself for what he did in to her farm (burned it.) He holds his hand as if it were diseased and he wishes someone would cut if off (figuatively, of course.) Wills, almost on a whim, does the next best thing.

I belong and for me it has been well worth the investment. The money you save being able to see DVD's you couldn't own because the cost of a box set or chance you'll see them on TV is a great deal.
The only downside maybe if you don't watch anything but regular TV that often.
They have nearly anything on a DVD. Old movies, new movies, TV shows, documentaries, concerts, etc. I like my membership. They have a quick turnaround time.
You should be able to visit their website to look around.

Weren't most of Temple's films from Fox? If that is the case Fox is not always so anxious to work deals with TCM.
-
Most any woman's hair from about 1963 and after.
-
At first glance it looks great. In one night alone you get "Easy Living", "Midnight", and "The Major and The Minor." (The first two are coming to DVD in April.)
Throw in Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd, a few familiar titles and it looks good. Thanks TCM.

>Snap Crack, and POP, go the joints as we get marrily oder...
Usually followed by a loud groan, in my case.
-
They've shown some Laurel and Hardy recently but no Chase.
-
Of the main leads Arness is the only one left. Supporting cast still living are, of course, Burt Reynolds and Buck Taylor (no relation.) he played "Newly." He was just in "Comanche Moon" that played this week.
-
And no matter how often the "tcmprogrammr" tells us nothing is changing.....

Welcome.
Feel free to "spout off" anywhere you like. There are some Cagney threads floating around.
-
At the very minimum you should have put it in some context. (Like you did here.) You didn't really need the quote.
You need to be careful. That 's the kind of thing that can get you bounced out of here. Frankly on it's face I don't think it is an overreaction.
-
William Conrad did the voice of Matt Dillon. It's no wonder they hired Arness for TV. They coulbn't be more different physically.

I like westerns too but lately we've had people complaining TCM shows too many. It's all on which side of the fence you're sitting, isn't it?
-
The later TV movies didn't really go that far back. The first TV movie (I know of) "Return to Dodge" did use an old episode that carried the story and edited scenes fr om the epsiode into the movie. It wasn't too long after that one that Amanda Blake died.
You might have to go back to the radio days to get that story. After all it had been on radio for a few years before it came to TV. The radio show even overalapped the TV show for several years.

I still have part of a John Ford film preservation weekend from 1999(?). Too bad Fox won't work better with TCM. I wonder of they're mad or just feel they aren't getting enough money?

I saw Jean Arthur in "Gunsmoke." I don't remember much about it as it caught me completely by surprise. On the one hand something new of her to watch but on the other she was now in her 60's and, I think, playing a part that was not all that flattering.

Lynn:
I don't remember "Hec Ramsey." I do remember the others but they may be because they ran longer.
Jack Webb was close to being the Dick Wolf (Law & Order) of his day. I remember that hand at the end of many shows. Maybe only rivaled (and a bit earlier) by Quinn Martin.
(Aren't we pulling some names?)

I guess there is nothing new under the sun. Thanks for the note. Another movie to look for.
-
I have not seen "Medic" but it is available through Netflix.
I got "The Time of Your Life" in a box set of leading men movies. Most of them were early films. Gable had "Painted Desert", Cooper had "A Farewell to Arms and I think Bogart's was "Beat THe Devil" and there were some others that I don't recall but they were off the beaten path titles.
-
I stumbled on this a few years ago. I couldn't tell you much about it but I remember I thought Henried was quite good. Probably better than most anything else I remember him doing.
-
No listing for it yet. Was it you that asked about "The Time of Your Life"? It is on the 30th/31st at 3:45am ET.
Thanks for the picture on Boone. I always knew as a first class thug in the movies. (The Tall T, Hombre, Big Jake, The Shootist) but it's been nice to get a different look at him in "Have Gun - Will Travel."

"Run For Cover" is another mid-50's Cagney western that shows up now and then on Encore's Westerns channel. Not lately as I recall though.

If you are in the mood for a comedy that is a western tune in Jan. 25 at 9:45. "Support Your Local Sheriff."
After follows "Support Your Local Gunfighter" follows. It is a chance to see the late Ms. Pleshette.
