"When will TCM be showing 88103 again? I meant to set my VCR to record it, but I fell asleep!"
I have it on my dvr - if you have 88102 I'll gladly swap a copy!

MUST WATCH TCM --- MUST WATCH TCM -- MUST WATCH TCM...
ONE OF US - GOOBLE GOBBLE GOOBLE GOBBLE - ONE OF US

As you can see by the screen captures the numbers were the same so it would be very odd that they'd be on separate tapes from separate companies.

Thanks for the reply tcmprogrammer.
Too bad they are a one shot deal. They really ought to be repeated from time to time.
Hopefully when the internet can maintain larger format content they'll be able to be seen just like On Demand. Right now the TCM Viewing screen is a little too small for me to enjoy at close range.

You too, Fred?
Sorry you did too but glad it's not just me...
I hope someone can tell us what that was.

This 88103 number appeared on my screen during The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming

And also appeared on my screen during On Golden Pond

What does this mean? Why are you doing this to me? Kenneth, what's the frequency????

Me Too!
I've enjoyed all the ones I've caught and lamented the one's I've missed. I wish TCM could/would recycle these intro's and wrap-ups when the movies are reaired.
TCMPROMGRAMMER -
Is there a reuse issue for these intros?
Thanks,

It feels like I've waited forever to see THE WHISTLER movies on TCM. I've never seen the final instalment. It was a great little story.
Anything with Richard Dix is OK with me!!!
THANK YOU TCM for airing these marvelous titles!!!

Shoe Shine Boy (1943) aired this morning just before The Farmer's Daughter.
-
The previous "restored" version shown on TCM ran 63 minutes. I believe the version shown today ran 61.
If there's a 91 minute version of this film I'd be curious to see what was cut.

Are any of our resident experts aware of why there are 2 different versions of THE VAMPIRE BAT (1933)?
The print shown this morning is different than the one the've shown in the past. The other was "restored" and in sepia but there seem to be scenes in there culled from another movie that weren't in the version shown this morning.
Just curious.

Humphrey Van Weyden - Alexander Knox in The Sea Wolf (1941)
Edward G. Robinson calling out, "Mr. Van Weyden," has it forever stuck in my head.

Oh, yeah, and Yancey Cravat, which was Richard Dix's name in Cimarron (1931), duh!

Funday Night At the Movies was programming only for Summer to get kids to watch TCM.

The Nickelette aired after The Church Mouse this morning. It's a 1930's short with clips from the silent era.

Thanks for the posts.
I really enjoyed myself tonight. I hope next Monday's are as enjoyable as these were. I just realized TCM was showing several other Teddington films from the same period after the Lost And Founds. What a great night!!!
Love those quick 30's movies.
Please, sir, can I have some more?

Does anyone know if there is a list of the 33 surving films from Teddington Studios?
Any information will be appreciated.

Of all the salutes and tributes TCM has run over the years the recent Lost and Found Series is, for me, the highlight of all.
For TCM to bring these lost and rarely seen films to viewers, who would otherwise never get to see them, illustrates how valuable this station is for film buffs.
I have been in anticipation of these two Teddington nights since I first heard about it. The last Lost And Found was a tremendous revelation and it's my great hope that TCM will continue to bring "lost" films, like these, out of the vaults!
Many thanks TCM,
Yancey Cravat

It's been SIX months - Time Warner Cable still sucks... I quit!!!!! BYE TCM
in General Discussions
Posted
I've been having the same problem for six months now. I'm right in the middle of a good movie and the picture freezes and pixilates.
Time and again I've called Time Warner, they've come, they've checked the wires, they've swapped out the boxes, proven to me that the signal is strong and still TCM is the only station this happens on. I actually show them the problem on the DVR, they nod, they can see there's a problem and yet apparently there's not a damn thing they can do about it.
WHY????????
Since TCM is primarily the station I watch it's been absolutely no fun anymore. I can't watch TCM without being distracted by the fact that at any moment there's going to be a problem.
I used to have the dish but my new landlords won't let me put one on the roof. I don't have a balcony to attach a dish to. So it's cable or nothing and now I think it's going to be nothing.
I'm going to cancel my cable all together and just do Netflix. Perhaps I should see if I can just go with out regular TV for a while. Also save about 90 bucks a month.
I'll be back when I can get a dish but for the time being... TIME WARNER SUCKS!!!!!
