I wasn't signed up to Filmstruck before but I'm interested in seeing many of the titles they have so I may sign up this time.

I'd watch it again sometime down the road, it's more like a free association free-for-all, looks like they took what elements they had of The Other Side Of The Wind, used Welles' notes put it together and then combined it with some of interviews of They'll Love Me When I'm Dead. It's like as if they cut a random hole in Welles' head an projected that on a screen.
Yeah, the scenes were definitely well shot and some interesting ideas were presented but I feel it was a bit haphazardly put together and things didn't flow right. That said, it was still very good considering what they had to work with.

I'm watching this one right now and it has very good cinematography but it's too all over the place for me. The soundtrack/ jazz riff is way too intrusive for me too. It doesn't flow with what's on the screen.

I'll probably get the Shame release, as it's one of my favorite Bergman's as well. I have the bare bones MGM DVD, but I'd like the bonus features and the remastered picture.
The previous DVD of Berlin Alexanderplatz has a $99.99 asking price, while the new Blu-Ray edition is $79.99!
To Sleep with Anger is one that I've wanted to see for awhile. It's listed in a book on Cult Movies that I have. I haven't seen Death in Venice, but I have it recorded. I've never heard of La Verite.
I hadn't heard of either To Sleep With Anger or La Verite before but both look interesting.

Shame is a good one and one of my favorite Bergman's definitely. Still haven't seen Berlin Alexanderplatz yet but this DVD of it seems to have a lot of interesting bonus material. It looks like the 1931 version in its entirety is among the bonus material! now that's a good deal.

Do you think they should colorize SCHINDLER'S LIST..?
Ha! Your joke reminded me of this joke about Ted Turner.

Hot Money - In this short comedy, Patsy Kelly and Thelma Todd come across some much needed money that just happens to be stolen.

Alla Pugacheva dancing and singing in the number "Do Not Speak of Love" in the movie The Woman who Sings.

The laugh track was a beautiful invention. The laughter does the enjoyment for you so you don't have to be bothered with that!

Time of the Apes - Compilation movie of the "Saru no Gundan" series. This is basically a non-copyright infringement version of planet of the Apes. A man, a woman and a kid get frozen in a cryogenic freezer and awake in the future to learn that apes now rule the world. Yeah, this is a very cheesy film but worth viewing if you like so bad it's good movies.

Are you saying it aired in 2015? It was actually on just last year!
Filming began in 2015 I think. Either way, what a great season that was!

It appears that Oliver! (1968) will be released on Region 1 Blu-ray on December 11th.

Are you going to get it? I thought you despise musicals? Or is Oliver! one of the ones you enjoy?

I'm holding out for My Lovely Burnt Brother and His Squashed Brain. It's the 30th anniversary of that, as well.
It's going to be the 30th Anniversary of Violent Sh1t too.

TCM has already shown 80s action movies before and Die Hard is played on many different channels already. I think the "deal" is TCM only showing it in theaters.

Well, just get ready for your usual strange David Lynch ride here, TB.
(...but yeah, if you like movies that make you think and the "meaning" of the film isn't spelled out for you as the final credits roll, THIS Lynch film is right up there with any in his canon of films)
Yeah, David Lynch is an odd one, all right.

Classic Era Film actresses who did nudity
in General Discussions
Posted
Brigitte Bardot was naked in And God Created Women
Harriet Andersson was naked in Summer With Monika
It's easier to think of Euro ones because they didn't really have a "code."
