I loathe this one so much. My irritating aunt and uncle watch it and are always trying to shove it down my throat. They get so offended too that I don't watch it and don't want to discuss it. Dude, not everyone likes the same things. Quit trying to shove this down my throat.

Moontide's pretty good. Only English language film Gabin ever made.

My grandma had a French provincial rotary phone that was very nice. It was basically a candlestick style with a curly chord. I think it was early 60s but intended to look much older.

Classic movie favorites that we never see any more... where are they???

I vaguely recall having seen Object of Obscure Desire on TCM before but maybe it was another Bunuel film? -
The doors aren't? A loaded question.

Dennis Farina did a good segment on Unsolved Mysteries on why De Salvo probably wasn't the killer. Basically he wasn't even really competent and the cops pinned it on him and he went along. Keep in mind that the victims greatly varied in age and MO which is extremely unlikely for a serial killer (most serial killers have preferred types and murder methods).

I just rewatched this one on the Criterion channel with the commentary. Great film all around. What really makes Zaroff a bastard is trying to kill Rainsfeld at the end. Rainsfeld won even by your crooked rules. Just accept defeat.

I saw Soleil O on the Criterion channel a few days ago. Boring as Hell and almost put me to sleep. Has that faux-Godard style in it too that was common during leftist movies of that period. Definitely not for me.

Imagine seeing Gypsy at all. -
My favorite Spencer Tracy film is the one that never was. "Seduced and Abandoned" - the studio originally wanted him as the father. I think it would have been much funnier with him in the role.

Sounds dull. I prefer the fun anime Engels.

They do wine club ads too which is probably what the OP is referring to. -
Nice sports car too. Doubles as a good pic for the "cool car" thread.

I still want the silent sunday one with the tango back. That's been gone for like a decade now. -

I know I'm preaching to the choir but I'd love to see more of his old intros too. His voice really got you in the mood for the movie more than the newer hosts though it is no fault of their's. His intros were always informative even when he probably didn't watch the movies being discussed (after 63,000 you would probably get a few). -
Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory 1971

Yeah, I have to say that Charlie's Chocolate, Muppets and Johnny Carson ducks aren't exactly at the top of the list of movies I'd love to see on TCM either. -
If you could turn any book into a movie, who would you cast?

Critias (this fragment was uncompleted but I imagine this as a fun sword and sandal film with Steve Reeves) King Atlas - Steve Reeves Poseidon - Gian Maria Volonte Egyptian scribe - Noble Johnson Solon - Franco Nero
