I know, I consider these films very much classics, as well as BEN-HUR and FROM HERE TO ETERNITY. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH, GIGI and AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, while good films, I don't think I would have given the top honor to though.

I always enjoyed the film MARTY because it wasn't a love story between two folks who would be considered 'the beautiful people'. They were just two ordinary, average everyday people, lonely and looking for companionship. MARTY proved you didn't need a gorgeous hunk or a raving beauty as the leads to make a successful love story.

THE HEIRESS is definitely my favorite out of the bunch, RUTHLESS and RUN FOR COVER are cool to watch, RUTHLESS PEOPLE a passable time killer (though I am not much of a Bette Midler fan), and MRS. DOUBTFIRE.....well let's just say I didn't get caught up in the craze over the film. -

I HATE people who kill helpless animals but I really hate the ones who get some sick sadistic satisfaction out of it. -

Awesome pair of movies. Leslie was so dashing in THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL and the sequel wasn't half bad despite Leslie's absence. -

You are so right, Lonesome Rhoades in A FACE IN THE CROWD, was definitely someone who could have benefited (or not) from a few pickings from the pitchfork. He was so despicable perhaps a better nickname for him would be "Loathsome" Rhoades! Hats off to Andy though for playing such a despicable character with all the right notes. I really did not see any trace of Sheriff Andy Taylor at all in here.
