THE SISTERS looks like a good one, do you know if it's available on DVD or Blu-Ray?

If she had won for THE SISTERS from the same year, I'd be fine with it.
Never heard of that one, and I thought I knew every film Bette ever made.

Do you like the follow-up they did, OLD ACQUAINTANCE (1943)..?
Actually, I do like their teaming in that one a bit more. Hopkins' character is still a bit of an annoyance, but I found her character a bit more tolerable than her other role in THE OLD MAID.

I guess they didn't have craft-store GOOGLY EYES when JEZ came out.
Maybe if it shows up on demand I'll try re-re-re-re-re-rewatching, but I warn you all, I SERIOUSLY DO NOT LIKE JEZEBEL in spite of being a strong BETTE DAVIS FAN.
And I've never liked it, even when I first saw it sometime between the ages of 12 and 15 when I was first broadening my classic movie horizons and BETTE DAVIS was my second FAVORITE (next to only BELA LUGOSI.)
I feel the exact opposite, I absolutely adore JEZEBEL, and thought Bette more than deserved her Oscar. It's got a great cast, and while it might be similar to GONE WITH THE WIND in some ways, there's enough differences so that it holds its own storywise.
And I honestly don't see what's so wrong about Bette's dress in here, I thought she looked absolutely gorgeous in it.

I didn't particularly like Hopkins' character in THE OLD MAID, so maybe that's why THE OLD MAID doesn't rank among my favorites. Still, as you say the interactions between her and Davis does make the movie watchable.

George Brent & Bette Davis on TCM
JEZEBEL with Henry Fonda
DARK VICTORY with Humphrey Bogart
THE OLD MAID with Miriam Hopkins
Looking forward to JEZEBEL and DARK VICTORY, really enjoy those two. Kind of indifferent towards THE OLD MAID, though Bette still gives it her 100 percent.

Two Oscars for Harold Russell on TCM
THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES with Fredric March & Dana Andrews
THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES is a great film. I know Fredric March and Harold Russell won Oscars for their performances (well deserved IMO) but Dana Andrews should have been nominated as well, a sentiment I know many folks on here share.
(SPOILERS):
Even though Homer lost his hands, which was traumatic for him no doubt, Fred had to deal with the painful memories of the demise of his lost comrades. Not to mention he returns to a wife who it turns out was never all that cracked up to be.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one Tom.
BTW, I am so happy to have a civilized discussion with you. That's one thing I don't miss about the IMBD forums....the hostile remarks and juvenile insults when somebody disagrees with another.

If some kids choose to idolize Rocky, then that's their choice, I don't think it's fair to blame the director, the writers or the actors.
I say it is the responsibility of the parents to make their children see the difference between someone like him on screen and others like him in real life, only much worse.
As I pointed out in my other post, I found Rocky somewhat likable, but at the same time I also knew he was an unrepentant jerk. I certainly did NOT want to be like him when I grew up. It also helped that I had two wonderful parents who taught me right from wrong.
