  1. I like THE VIKINGS but I adore SPARTACUS. It had something for everyone, lots of action for the action fans out there, a love story for the romantics out there, and an enjoyable experience watching such legends as Kirk, Laurence Olivier, Charles Laughton and Peter Ustinov in the same film together. Though I would have given the supporting actor award to Laughton. He is so dang mesmerizing in every scene he's in.
  2. Seen most of these, don't think I've seen 935 and 940 however. 936 has Burt Lancaster turning in a dynamite performance, easy to see why he won the Oscar that year (and against such strong competition too). I adore 938, so cute and funny and the baby is adorable. 937.....eh. 931 is exceptional and most agree it's the film that Jimmy Stewart really should have won his only Oscar for. 933 is another classic.
  3. I forgot about that one. He was terrific in that.
  4. What for? To set another wonderful example of how the rich and famous are above the law and can get away with anything? Let Polanski stay where he is. He made his bed and should lie in it, no matter how much time has passed. It's not like he has done any real jail time, like any other ordinary citizen would have if they had done what he did. I am glad she was able to forgive him and moved on with her life.....but I still think he should do time for what he did to her, I don't care how long ago it was. As far as the accusations against Woody goes, I personally don't like the guy but whether the accusations against him are true or not, I haven't a clue.
  5. Yes she was a nasty little minx, wasn't she? Hard to believe it was the same woman who played the patient wife in both THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES and MR. BLANDINGS BUILDS HIS DREAM HOUSE. Which proves what a great actress she was.
  6. Seen them all except 929. 930 is my favorite of the bunch. And I am far from being a boxing fan. I also like 921 and 922 really well. 928 was a bit too mean-spirited for me. 926 is sad but the story it was based on was even more tragic. 927 is watchable though I don't go out of my way to find it when it's on TV.
