I am hoping to find out if this film still exists and where i can find it. Andre Breton mentions the film in his book "Nadja." He was very impressed by it. The title is "The Grip of the Octopus." I am assuming the film is French and therefore the title would be in French. However it may presently exist under a different title altogether. "Nadja" was first published in 1928 so, of course, the film would have been made pre 1928.
It concerns an old Chinese man who has the ability to duplicate himself and takes over the world with his "clone" army. Thanks.
