  1. Just watched "Winchester '73" with Jimmy Stewart but the part of one of the cavalry men in the film was played by Anthony "Tony" Curtis ... (credits listed him as Anthony Curtis)
  2. Sounds like it could be "The Uninvited" with Ray Milland and I think it was Rosalind Russell...
  3. I'm not sure if anyone has posted anything about this topic, but I was just curious as to everyones opinion about The Fox Movie Channel not airing any "Charlie Chan" films because of political correctness. I'm not sure if they will ever release any more of the "Chan" films on DVD, besides the "Chantology" that's already available ... Dave
  4. Hey Mongo, It was Jean Peters as Polly Cutler in "Niagra" 1953. I think she said it to George Loomis played by Joseph Cotten ...
  5. Hi Cindy, my answer is Howard Hawks ...
  6. "Thunder Road" is great, but I'd have to say "Night of the Hunter" ...
  7. Films of the 30s are the best ...
  8. I think it was "Rasputin and the Empress" from 1932
  9. It's definitely not "The Big Trail", I just picked that up on DVD this week. The film has to be one of the early Republic films.
  10. Another great Christmas film is "Beyond Tomorrow" with C. Aubrey Smith, Richard Carlson and Jean Parker. A couple meets a trio of old gentlemen on Christmas Eve and become good friends. Then, of course, tragedy strikes and the film takes off from there. It has kind of an eerie feeling to it that's tough to explain ... Great film from 1940, and it's available on DVD from Alpha Video. Dave
  11. Does anyone know the name of the short film that TCM airs around Christmas ?? It's kind of a take on the birth of Jesus, but in modern times (probably the 40s or 50s) Mary and Joseph, (Mary's pregnant), are tourists and they stop at a gas station instead of a stable/manger. Three men stop in later on bringing gifts for Mary's baby, supposedly portraying the three wise men ... It's actually kind of touching and pretty well done. I've only seen it a couple of times. Would like to get it on tape or as an extra on a DVD release of something ... Thanks, Dave
  12. "The Incredible Shrinking Man" - TCM aired it about a week ago, excellent fim !!
  13. What about "The Man Who Came to Dinner" with Monty Wooley and Bette Davis, along with, I think it was Ann Sheridan. Great film, lots of laughs ... Maybe someday ...
  14. Great 60s SciFi film. I doubt if it's available on DVD or even VHS ... Might be copyright or other legal issues holding it up ...
  15. ... This has to be a definite DVD release in the near future ...
