You can set a DVD-Rom drive 5 times before it locks. There are PC programs that jimmy it, but I'm not sure about them (I'm on a Mac). They're everywhere though, I think I saw one at an Office Depot. A region-free player is a better choice, especially one that appropriately displays anamorphic PAL discs.
