Does anyone know--I just heard for black and white films, red shows up darker than black--is that true?

Unfortunately, I remember a few of those films from the old (1997) days of AMC--I have Ivy on tape (I think) and I know I saw Jane Eyre and Letter from an Unknown Woman from there too. It's too bad, because I'd love to see the rest. I just came across You Gotta Stay Happy in my collection and had completely forgot I had it...

In college, I had a 13-inch TV and watched widescreen on it. Now, I watch a lot of movies on my laptop computer, which isn't much bigger either....

 

I don't even have a 27-inch TV now.

[REGION 2 DVD releases]

You can set a DVD-Rom drive 5 times before it locks. There are PC programs that jimmy it, but I'm not sure about them (I'm on a Mac). They're everywhere though, I think I saw one at an Office Depot.

 

A region-free player is a better choice, especially one that appropriately displays anamorphic PAL discs.
