I don't understand. Myrna Loy is "L"...isn't she. L-O-Y. I don't like using commas, so maybe that confused you, momentarily.

*ILoveRayMilland:* Hi, I have a suggestion. Go back and change the title of this thread to something like HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT A MOVIE? or something similar to make clear that intrepretative questions about movies can be asked here, similar to the ones you asked. Maybe a title like: INTERPRETATIVE QUESTIONS ABOUT MOVIES: ASK HERE, or maybe you can think of something better. I'm not sure that there is a thread quite like this (or perhaps there is and I'm not recalling it), i.e., one where you can go to duck in question about a movie one has just seen and which would preclude a search for a discussion of that particular movie or having to start a thread just for the question. Just a thought.

*Oui, mon cher.
*Hi Fred
You'll excuse me I hope if I invoke a CSjr here and correct you.
Correct is, ma chere, since Film Fatale is a lady. Also good is ma chere amie which is not too familiar. If you and Mlle Fatale were to go the movies several times a week
, you might start calling her ma cherie, which is a little more familiar although this latter works less familiarly with good friends as well.So there you have it, Fred, your unsolicited French lesson for the day. I hope you feel the better off for it.

I believe the above is correct. Grammar is one thing and can be pinned down, usage is trickier, especially for non-native speakers (like me).

Bonjour, *Butterscotchgreer*
This is a good picture of these two. The facial expressions suggest, to me anyway, that they are not in character. This could have been a between-take still, yes? Or is this screencap of the actual movie? No matter, a good pic of Liz and Darce.

"All she does is yap, yap, yap. She makes fun of my gloves with realizing how ridiculous she looks in that hat. At least that's how it was when she was alive. Having her stuffed with this yappy pose was funny at first...now I'm getting a little bored."

Yes, thank you for answering laffite's questions...although for a minute there I thought you were pulling laffite's leg. My first thought was that it was a joke because the points you listed there seemed satirical to me at first. Sometimes generalities like that, even when serious, can be dangerous. Even a blitz poster might come up with a gem sooner or later. I guess I don't mind taking a person's post at face value regardless of post count since I don't ever remember checking a post count for the purpose of deciding whether I want to read that person's post anyway. So with that in mind thank you in advance for not printing out the other 132.

*Cinemave*, just having been apprised on a different thread of your fine take on The Letter (the OP of this thread), I find I can't even finish it without satisfying the urge to to delve in the Laffite collection to retrieve my copy of the movie. I don't think I can fully appreciate your piece without a fresh viewing although your usual perspicacity is clearly evident. I can say, a bit to my chagrin, that I certainly did not get all that when I watched the film. I remember liking the film and therefore all the more enjoyable to see again and with the bonus feature of being able to read your take below in a more informative way. I look at your 'ramble' almost like a Special Feature on a DVD. It makes me wonder how many more of the these gems of yours are buried in the archives.

*A little less to work with here, maybe, but I'm sure a few of you out there will provide a zinger or two.

Anyone wishing to provide a photo, please do so. Say, about Tuesday
Thanks.
