This is such a charming show and it's a lovely break from depressing current events and politics. The contestants root for each other, the setting is a tent in the English countryside with pastel colored mixers and fridges. The baking challenges can be quite engrossing. Will they make it in time? Will the elaborate cake topple over? Does their dish have a soggy bottom?!? I always want to bake something new after watching GBBS .
Gosh, a friend of mine has been after me to watch this show. I seem to be dragging my feet. He talks of it just like you do.

This is so catchy ... appeared in I Knew Her Well (1964), an excellent Italian film.

I think the red ones are best. 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Great viewing.
