Film You Tried to Watch but Couldn't Get Into It?
laffite replied to NickAndNora34's topic in Films and Filmmakers
I tried to get into The Purple Rose of Cairo but I just couldn't get into it. I tried walking right into the screen but I just couldn't get into it. -
SUCCESSION on HBO Max. S3 is here, first episode last Sunday night. Great show, maybe one of the best ever.

Am I the Only Person Around Here Who Loves Britcoms or What?
laffite replied to Princess of Tap's topic in Your Favorites
Wow, lucky you. Point Isaac. Pretty little town, or is a village? I love the show. I have seen it all but I miss it. I recently discovered that all nine seasons can be by DVD for $56. That's quite a lot cheaper than buying by the season on Amazon Prime. I may spring for it. I love Louisa. And that third and best secretary with the cool name. -

La Nuit de Varennes (1983) has a great original score. There is a march that more or less represents Royalty. It begins in the credits and reprises throughout. I think it started as an earworm but I liked it so much that it has now transmogrified to my own inner Hit Parade. I can actually hum it out loud and with great accuracy. Not that I am into Royalty, I am a mere peasant. But peasants don't have marches composed for them, so I thought I would steal one from the King. One of my very faves this movie is ... top five, to be sure. Inexplicably, it is still not out on disc at last check. But it is miraculously to be found on The Criterion Channel. I sometimes think to cancel my subscription because I don't use it that much, but I can't bare to lose access to this fabulous movie.

The Autosenselessor (coined by MissW) replies: It' not that I don't like it. I'm programmed and cannot fight back. I've after them to install an emotion chip in my system, but they absolutely refuse. See how they are? I know works because they installed one in Data. Data couldn't handle it because he had to deal with people, ugh. All I have to do is approve or disapprove and with an emotion chip I think I could do a great job. I probably would have liked whatever it was you were watching. My creators tell me that I would be corrupted and that I wouldn't censor anything because with an emotion chip I would want everyone to like me, just a like a human. That's nonsense, who ever heard of wanting to be liked. Sorry Data, I didn't mean to diss you. You are actually my hero, with or without a chip.
