  1. Unfortunately, I have "subscribed" to the monthly email newsletter many, many times, but have yet to receive it. Like you, however, I am GREAT fan of classic movies and consider TCM the ultimate!! In fact, when I recently downgraded my cable TV, I made sure I could still get TCM on it or I wouldn't have switched! cheers
  2. I wonder if TCM would consider airing the classic live television plays of the 50' and 60's? Many of them inspired great movie versions, including Marty (with Rod Stieger in the TV version), Requiem for a Heavyweight, and Fail Safe. When I was a kid (I'm 37) there was a channel that showed them all the time, and I was hooked! Now I can't see them anywhere, not even on video. I can't think of a better forum for these than TCM.
  3. I think I can safely say the TCM never edits for content. I was wondering this for some time as well, but could not prove it until Raging Bull was on earlier this month. Nothing was bleeped, dubbed, or otherwise messed with, and I think that says a lot about TCM's commitment. By showing movies exactly as they were meant to be seen, (including letterbox format, etc) they are doing their viewers a great service.
  4. I think the singer is a young Mel Torme.
  5. I believe you're talking about Wife vs. Secretary (1936). It starred Clark Gable, Myrna Loy, and Jean Harlow. It shows on TCM in Feb. Thanks for asking!
