Alongside the course, I am reading Bogle's Bright Boulevards, Bold Dreams: The Story of Black Hollywood. It is wonderful. It mentions that in 1929 there was another race musical produced (in addition to Hallelujah!) called Hearts of Dixie. I wonder why there was no mention of it in the course, and why Hallelujah! was chosen over it for consideration in the course. I do notice that Hearts of Dixie does not seem to be available on DVD, while Hallelujah! is. Have we no copies of the former? Thanks for reading this, and any insight/information would be appreciated.

I know there was made a silent version of The Broadway Melody as not all cinemas at the time were "wired for sound", as it were. Are copies of this silent version still in existence and somehow available? Any information would be appreciated.
