After watching Bette Davis all month I realized she played herself most of the time . That of a selfish **** with a fog of smoke in front of her face . She fought for and got to play in many great movies. For my money Barbara Stanwyck was the best of all screen actress. She played leads in all most ninety films and didn't need a male lead actor to carry the movie. After fifty years in the movies she went on to star in her own tv series and played a major part in the Thorn Birds. I have seen about thirty five of her movies and I cant remember any I didn't find entertaining. She was well liked on the set and had real concerns for them . She certainly had something to have a relationship with a much younger Robert Wagner.

Today's movies are becoming so animated and filled with special effects that its only a matter of time before they eliminate real actors altogether. As it is only a major character or two is shown in depth in each film. If you think that today's movies are great why are they trying to remake so many older movies,unsuccessfully I might add. The classic films are enjoying to watch because they had a great cast of supporting actors that could carry a lot of the movie. Going back in time in movies show how much better movie characters lived. The clothes were better,the cars were better and so were the mansions and furnishings they had. The dialogue was wittier and funnier simply because they had to be since there were not long car chases,.lots of sex scenes and continual profanity, I might add simulated fight scenes. Watching the Japanese animation series is like watching a pong game from the seventies. Its no Walt Disney and it sure isn't Busby Burkley.

Thanks Valo, I thought my eyes were bad looking at the TCM guide. I hope they show it again. It was a great old movie. The Warren Batey version "Heaven can wait' wasn't as good.

Am I missing something or is my fav Rob Mong. movie "Looking for Mr. Jordon" omited from Jan. lineup?
