Yes, WEHO as it is referred to, was incorporated in 1984 . I have lived here since 1980. Thank goodness for rent control, my rent has only gone up $200.00 in the 15 years since I moved from a one bedroom to a two bedroom / two bath on the same street. The building I live in was used for the outside scenes - street, entrance to pool area as well as pool area & front of Betty Davis's apartment in her 1953 Academy Award nominated film, The Star. In the film she lived in a one bedroom apartment, interior shots done at the studio, but they used the outside of a "studio" apartment ! The building was built by one of the Studios to house " new stars & starletts" around 1946-47. There are several apartment buildings next door & on the block that were built for the same reason. I am between Sunset & Santa Monica Blvds at the base of Laurel Canyon. I assume the local theater in San Francisco you are referring to is the famous Castro Theater. W.P.
