  1. I've been thinking about the history of the himbo on film and wanted to ask the community if they could think of some early examples. If you're not familiar, the definition of a himbo from Urban Dictionary: Generally, a large (broad, tall, or buff) attractive man, who tends to be not very bright, but usually extremely nice and respectful. Think Kronk from The Emperors New Groove, or maybe a golden retriever. I also like this definition (source): A himbo isn't /just/ a stupid man. There implies a level of emotional maturity and emotional intelligence. Just
  2. I'm not a smoker or a tobacco connoisseur by any means but sometimes I'll think about what kind of smoke an actor is usually associated with and how it might relate to their general onscreen persona/appearance or just the character that they happen to be playing in a specific movie. Cigarettes are obviously most common but sometimes you'll see an occasional cigar or pipe amongst the men. I've thought about this for a bit and I think the only two actors I've seen smoke all three across their pictures are Joseph Cotten and Walter Pidgeon (who's obviously one of the more recognizable pi
  3. 1. Marx Brothers - A Night at the Opera 2. Boris Karloff - The Old Dark House 3. Bela Lugosi - Ninotchka 4. Basil Rathbone - Confession/The Mark of Zorro 5. Farley Granger - Strangers on a Train 6. Kirk Douglas - Seven Days in May 7. Natalie Wood - The Ghost and Mrs. Muir 8. Bette Davis - The Little Foxes 9. Sidney Poitier - A Patch of Blue 10. Walter Matthau - A Face in the Crowd
  4. Both those films are pretty good, especially CLAUDIA. Dot is one of my favorite actresses and I've noticed that many of her earlier movies in particular are impossible to get on Blu-ray. It's a shame. I'd pick up CLAUDIA in a heartbeat!
  5. A lot of well known films with Bette Davis and Joan Crawford (ie. MILDRED PIERCE, ALL ABOUT EVE, etc.) - I'm not a fan of either of them. I do want to see JOHNNY GUITAR eventually though. I've seen less famous movies of theirs and let's say that I'm just satisfied with how much I've seen of them so far. Same with Audrey Hepburn. I'll never watch BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S or FUNNY FACE.
  6. You made me fall down a hole with him and some of these pics I'm finding... This one's dedicated to all you Ty lovers out there
  7. Don't have anything else to really add about his actual physique that hasn't been said already - but this has always been one of my fave photographs of him.
  8. Yes! He's another one of my favorites 🥰
  9. Please tell me I'm not the only person who can never get enough of Buster Crabbe!
