Jaynrand: >>> Snik - you must remember to take your medication or the nurses won't let you use the computer anymore. <<< You are nothing more but a simple minded fool.
-
Jayrand: >>> Thanks, snik. I appreciate your comments. <<< I'm glad that you do. Now go get bent, fool.
-
You're an idiot, Jaynrand. If you don't like the piece, then don't watch it. You are just like all the other cattle in this thread. Not able to think or form an educated opinion about anything without going with the majority of the crowd. You're pathetic and you make me sick with your verbal vomit and incoherent ramblings.
-
moviejoe79: >>> And Snik, maybe you get away with this kind of behavior on other message boards (which I'm sure you frequent, since people like you love them), but, on these boards we try to have civilized conversations, which is what this one was, before you came along. <<< Yeah yeah, it's all my fault, right. I simply presented an unpopular opinion, was bashed for it, I retaliate in turn and now it's my fault that this thread has degraded into what it is now. Because, you know, no one else had anything to do with it but me. You're an idiot, and your logic as well as your critical thinking skills leave a lot to be desired. What the hell kind of backwoods, hill billy, two bit high school did you graduate from, gramps? Because they sure as hell forgot how to teach you to think for yourself. moviejoe79: >>> Take your foul remarks and nasty attitude someplace else. And that's all I have to say to you. I won't even reply to your next remark (which I'm sure is forthcoming), since it's not worth it. <<< Uh huh. I thank you for your participation in this thread and I doubt this will be the last time you respond to me, pops. Don't threaten me with your sniveling and arrogant holier-than-thou attitude. It's obvious that your mental capacity to keep up with the younger generation is about as large as that ego you like to shove down peoples throats. Go ahead. feign indifference about me on your behalf. It just goes to show that not only are you a whiny old bastard, but you got your **** publically handed to you and you can't take a little adversity on a message board. moviejoe79: >>> I suggest we all follow Path's advice. <<< I said the same thing to lzcutter and so I'll say it to you. Get your nose out of path40a's ****. Dogs do that. You aren't a dog are you? Because you have all the qualities of one, except loyalty.
-
lzcutter: >>> Sorry Path, I wrote this before I saw your post. You are as always, correct. Lynn in Sherman Oaks <<< Why don't you get your nose out path's **** lzcutter. Dogs do that. You aren't a dog are you? Because you have all the qualities of one, except loyalty.

path40a: >>> Friends, I think you've identified a new troll. Either that, or the person who authored this year's TCM Remembers piece Time to put "him" on ignore? <<< A troll. Wow. I offer my opinion on the piece, am ridiculed for it, I respond in like and I get labeled as a troll through no fault of my own. Go to hell, path40a, and take your self righteous, arrogant **** with you.

TheCount: >>> Does anyone have any further clues as to the identity of the musical talent? The Count has grown tired of listening to "The Children Of The Night", and while it's true that they do make beautiful music, he feels that a change is in order. <<< The musician is a fellow by the name of Joe Henry. The title of the song is "Flesh And Blood" off the Tiny Voices album, track 11. The album itself is very good. I find to be very mellow and easy listening on quiet, rainy days.
-
mongo: >>> Hey Snik, your logic and crass remarks snink. <<< Ask me if I care. If you can't take the heat, then stay the hell out of my kitchen, twit.
-
moviejoe79: >>> Snik, you're WAY out of line saying that there's nothing but a bunch of old **** that are displeased with this segment. I'm not OLD by any means. Who the hell do you think you are making such an unfounded statement like that? Just post your opinion without making assumptions about everyone else. <<< I'm not out of line. If the shoe fits, wear it fool. I don't care if you aren't OLD, age is subjective, therefore while you might not be OLD in age, you can still be OLD because your mentality is that of a senile 75 year old that wears diapers. I posted my opinion about the subject, flavored it with some constructive criticism and you can't handle it. So what. Not my fault you can't accept the fact that you'd rather look at everything surface deep and not try to find the real meaning behind anything you encounter, moron. That said, why don't you take a deep breath, change your diaper, insert a pacifer in your man-pleaser and enjoy some Ensure as I'm sure that you will find something else to say that's even more ignorant than your latest verbal vomit.

>>> Hey Snik, Can I make the tribute piece when your parents die? It'll be really cutting edge and cool.......you'll love it! It won't pay them any respect but it'll sure be arty! Yay! null <<< Hey null, Can I make a tribute piece of you being gay and dying due to the AIDS virus? It will be really cutting edge and cool; you'll love it! It won't pay you any respect but it'll sure be arty! Yay!

You're old, and that's okay. Maybe you can understand that TCM tried their best to encompass both aspects of fans of all things TCM, young and old. They tried to do this by showcasing those that had passed away with 2-3 second shots/still/footage clips, as well as making the mood somber and filled with anguish with edgy black and white cutaways of the motel. People like you need to get with the times. The world is changing and you certainly cannot expect TCM to idly sit by and allow it to pass it by as well. They have a large audience to cater to, and trying to cater to all is an endeavor that is more pure luck than anything else. So, go ahead and whine some more, and post more drivel of how TCM disrespected those that passed, boo-hoo, yadda yadda yadda. For those that can appreciate the fact that things change this was a great thing. For those old **** who are content to moan and groan about this or that, you make me sick. You are missing the real reason TCM even bothered to do these "Remember" skits in the first place.

There seems to be many people who have issues with the Turners "Remembers" spot that airs occasionally. I, for one, find the spot to be compelling, thorough and respectful. For those people that sit there and consider this spot disrespectful or somehow 'endangers' the memories and lives of those it showcased are in serious need of a ****. I was drawn into the spot not simply because of the music, which in itself was quite haunting, brilliant and beautiful, but because of the message and subterfuge anguish that one could detect throughout the spot itself. The motel, the furnishings, the woman, the black and white shots and stills with peculiar camera angles and film styles all lend a hand to create a feeling of loss of old friends and the renewal of memories of them. You people negatively criticize something as beautiful as this and it only shows how behind the times, and most likely older and stuffy you all are. Of course it's going to be edgy, of course it's going to be dark. It's supposed to evoke sadness, it's supposed to evoke nostalgia. And in this day and age TCM must keep up with the times or suffer comments from boring old sots like yourselves who want the 'good ole days' back. Get with the program you guys and quit your incessant whining. The spot TCM runs is fresh, respectful and poignant. More to the point, it's alive. And that's what makes it great: it's not the same ole rehashed crap you all want it to be.
