TCM has lost sight of what it means to report on the deaths of those in the theater arts. We need a full-screen picture of the person along with the appropriate identification (name and actor/director/playwright/set designer, etc.). Don't give it over to someone's "creative" instincts so they can put their own stamp on it.
Who in the world needs to see a full-screen shot of a toilet with the seat up, or scenes of bodies in bed, or living actors and actresses so as to connect them with a particular director. Indeed, contriving an identification like the last-mentioned detracts from that director rather than enhancing his/her stature!
If a TV channel were remembering those who died in Iraq during the past year, would they present it in a montage format with snippets of battle scenes or wounded soldiers simply because that's the "arena" in which the subjects were involved?
