  1. Yes. https://archive.org/details/ScroogeOrMarleysGhost1901 The original was 7+ minutes. This is what remains today.
  2. ALL-MONTH-LONG! https://freeform.go.com/31-nights-of-halloween
  3. This should make what you do much easier. I like it.
  4. I am slowly finding other channels to watch. I might consider dropping TCM when the move from a tier package to an add-on package happens October 10th with Xfinity/Comcast. When people here complain, it suggests a dependency on TCM to do it all. As for Halloween, just show me The Great Pumpkin, and I'm done. (The package change with Xfinity/Comcast means I can go month-to-month instead of 12/24 month commitment)
  5. How did you show the schedule without the shorts?
  6. MeTV remembers Valerie Harper with episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Rhoda
  7. Since LawrenceA and spence are both in this thread, be safe out there in Florida!! Same to everyone else in Dorian's path!! Take Good Care!!
  8. I never change the settings on my TV or cable box. There is normal or zoom. Nothing else. A funny thing, M*A*S*H, on MeTV, is widescreen. I have also seen The Waltons in widescreen, perhaps on one of the Hallmark Channels. I was not aware of either program being filmed that way. Picture appears normal. As for the suggestion I'd dump TCM for such a simple reason is not so. If I were to take on Acorn TV, BritBox, or Disney+, TCM would have to go. I'm not alone. On a cord cutters site, many who want Disney+, are planning to reduce something else.
  9. I've had ongoing audio issues with all things digital TV. So by comparison, I expect TCM to do better than "cheap." If I want cheap, there is plenty for free. Aspect ratios have been totally messed up ever since digital. I've been nothing short of furious with digital TV for about 12 years now. I've been paying $10/month for only TCM for a long time. My money just might be better spent for better quality.
  10. You said this recently about another movie. I think you said "cheapie." It was When Tomorrow Comes if I recall. Should this become a habit, some may go looking elsewhere. My cable provider (Comcast) is moving TCM to an add-on package. It will be easy to take or leave. It will also make it easier to track TCM subscriber count. <You know, just sayin'.> You've been talking about BritBox, which impressed me. I'd like to see BritBox and Acorn TV come together.
  11. Very true. Out here, San Francisco's KFOG is coming to an end. A beloved (different) Rock FM. Owned by a big radio broadcasting corporation. It will simulcast a sports AM station.
  12. The free with commercials market is growing like a weed. I think free is becoming competitive. My cable box now includes XUMO and Pluto TV. The Flex service through Comcast, a streaming only box for Internet customers, starts off with many freebies. Netflix kinda has their eggs in one basket. That could hurt. Someone may buy their streaming business, putting them back where they started.
  13. Yes, but very well done. The $9 Netflix is for SD. To me, that is lame. $13 for HD. UHD is $16. There are numerous live services as well. Many cost just like cable or satellite. I stay with cable because streaming would not save me much and some channels don't stream. I don't pity Netflix. They killed the DVD rental store.
  14. I do know guys dig chicks in leather, as they have "that new truck smell." I evacuated from a fire to end up sleeping in a room full of brand new cots. Not to mention hotdogs and beans. I love the sound leather makes, but I am a sick puppy. I'm very astute.
  15. Here is a list of all winners, nominees, and presenters: http://www.widescreenings.com/list-best-picture-oscar.html
  16. A 6 ft. tall Pooka? I am Nomad. I am perfect. (Star Trek TV) Ok, the image does look like a terminal window.
  17. I spend enough time on this forum. Don't want to spend even more time following social media, which I feel can compromise my privacy and security. I find it hilarious to see someone using DOS, as is suggested in the photo. What will happen to this forum when many move to Twitter? I happen to like what we have here.
  18. The Muppet Movie was nominated for 2 Oscars, in the Best Music category.
  19. A couple of negative posts about ongoing Twitter reposts were deleted. Then again, TCM favors social media.
  20. LawrenceA posted his What A Character video in that thread. I think he said, "Flip flop the flip flop." Yes a "comfortable" star to watch. (I'm less overweight) I hope TCM doesn't end up being limited to their own library. Then again, what a library. I like your idea of 2 (maybe 3) evening movies with one star. If you think about, Summer Under The Stars suggests nighttime. I prefer TCM mix things up.
